Liverpool vs Newcastle Bet Builder Tips
We are kicking off this 40/1 poke by backing Jurgen Klopp’s side to come out on top and win the match. The Magpies have been well off the pace away from St James’ Park this season and have won just one of their last 11 Premier League away games (D4 L6), losing each of the last four in a row.
In stark contrast, Liverpool have only been defeated once in their last 51 Premier League home games and are unbeaten in 21 outings at Anfield (W16 D5) since a 2-1 loss to Leeds in October 2022.
Jurgen Klopp will be well aware that he will be losing his star striker Mo Salah in the coming weeks as the Egyptian King jets off to The African Cup of Nations. Newcastle are often an opponent Salah performs well against, scoring five in his last six against the Toon.
Only Joao Palhinha of Fulham and Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea have been shown more yellow cards this season than Anthony Gordon, who along with a handful of other players has seven to his name.
The second player we are siding with to be carded in this fixture is Kieran Trippier. The Newcastle right-back has already collected five cautions this campaign and should have his work cut out against one of the most potent attacks in the Premier League. Combining Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon to be booked, along with Mo Salah to score and Liverpool to win, pays 40/1, and can hopefully kick off the new year in style.
