Liverpool vs Bologna Prediction, Odds and Team News: Konate appeals in the shots market
Liverpool will aim to maintain the impressive momentum built in the early stages of Arne Slot's tenure as they host Bologna at Anfield on Wednesday evening. Following a superb 3-1 victory in their inaugural Champions League match against AC Milan, Liverpool now have the opportunity to secure their eighth win in nine matches.
Liverpool vs Bologna Predictions
Liverpool are the clear favorites to follow up their impressive 3-1 Champions League victory in Milan with another victory over another Serie A side: Bologna.
Since making his debut as a substitute in Arne Slot's first match against Ipswich Town, Reds defender Ibrahima Konate has been a consistent starter in every Premier League and Champions League fixture under the Dutch manager, playing his part in six victories and five clean sheets.
However, my focus for Wednesday is not on another clean sheet inspired by Konate, but rather on a single shot from him at an attractive price of 23/20 with Midnite.
Konate has proven to be a significant offensive threat under Slot, having scored in two of his last three matches: he netted the crucial equaliser that initiated the comeback against AC Milan and scored the opening goal in last weekend's 2-1 victory over Wolves, both of which were powerful headers.
At Anfield under the lights, Liverpool will expect to dominate against a side that have only claimed one win from seven games this season. With the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, and Alexis Mac Allister whipping dangerous balls into the box from set pieces, expect Konate to have his share of opportunities to have a shot in the match.
For those of you seeking a bigger price, Konate is 7/1 to score for the third time in four games, 10/1 to score a header, and 25/1 to score and be carded; which has also landed in two of his last three.

For the Bet Builder, I have combined Mo Salah 2+ shots on target (SOT) with over 2.5 cards for Bologna, which pays 31/10 with Midnite.
Salah may not have scored in the 3-1 win against AC Milan, but that wasn't through a lack of trying, with the Egyotian firing in five shots, two of which were on target.
The winger has four goals in six Premier League appearances this season and has had 2+ SOT in five of those six games, and all three home matches, including four in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth.
Visiting teams to Anfield this season have been frequent entries into the referee's black book: West Ham had a player sent off, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest picked up four yellows each, and Brentford three.
Liverpool have averaged 63% possession in their home games and will expect to have a lot of the ball against Bologna, who may look to break the play up by any means possible. They had a red card and three yellows in their clash against Atalanta last weekend and look worth siding with at 13/10 to become the fifth straight visiting to have over 2.5 cards at Anfield tonight.
