Liverpool vs. Everton Betting Tips: Best bets for the Merseyside derby
Liverpool have the chance to go top of the league when they host Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off. Jurgen Klopp’s side have lost just one match so far this season and they have a stellar record against their local rivals. Scott Thornton is on hand to preview the action and provide us with his best bets.
The Reds were lacklustre last season but they have started this campaign in a more familiar swashbuckling style. Jurgen Klopp looks to have built another team that can compete in the upper echelons of the Premier League having missed out on Champions League football last season.
Everton are three points above the relegation zone after beating Bournemouth 3-0 in their last Premier League match but they will need to go up a few gears if they are to get the result they crave at Anfield.
The home side will be without Thiago, Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson for this one. Curtis Jones is also suspended after the red card he picked up in the defeat against Tottenham.
Sean Dyche is likely to name the starting eleven that coasted past the Cherries prior to the international break. Seamus Coleman and Andre Gomes are ruled out with long-term injuries.

Over 1 Goal For Liverpool & Both Teams To Receive 2+ Cards @ 11/10 bet365
This is a huge fixture for both sides during any campaign but this result will have huge ramifications for the respective team's confidence heading into the next phase of the season. Liverpool can temporarily go top of the Premier League with a win but dropped points would likely see them drop out of the top four. Three points for Everton would steer them towards the middle of the table.
Wins at Anfield are a rarity for Everton. Anfield may be just a stone's throw away from Goodison Park but they’ve won just once in their last 16 visits to the ground. They have lost 11 of those matches and are averaging 1.37 less goals per game than their local rivals.
Klopp’s team have scored three goals in all three of their home league games thus far. They have beaten Everton 2-0 in their two most recent clashes at Anfield and they should be amongst the goals once again.
Liverpool have an xG of 18.74 at this stage, only Newcastle have more in the Premier League. This is helped by their array of attacking talent. Darwin Nunez is starting to show the qualities that drew the club to him in the summer of 2022. He played a pivotal role in Uruguay’s win over Brazil and he has the ability to stretch this Everton defence.
The Toffees have conceded seven goals across their three league matches on the road this season. Aston Villa are the only side currently in the top half they have faced away from home and they lost 4-0. I’m backing Liverpool to score a couple of goals here.
We’re combining that with match cards. As you’d expect, Merseyside derbies are usually card-friendly games and this season’s Premier League is seeing more cards than ever. Three of the last four meetings between these sides have seen both teams pick up at least two cards. Over that period, Liverpool are averaging two cards per game, while Everton are averaging 3.5.
Craig Pawson is at the whistle for this one. He has refereed one Everton game so far this season and dished out seven yellow cards; three for Everton and four for their opponents.

Out longshot uses the same goal and card angles as the main bet but with increased lines.
Liverpool have scored three goals in their four domestic matches at Anfield so far this season. They are amongst the most creative sides in the league and a bumper win over their cross-town rivals would put them in good stead for the weeks to come.
Everton have picked up four cards or more in two of the last four head-to-heads with Liverpool. Sean Dyche will be keen for his side to get stuck in and ensure Liverpool don’t settle into their rhythm.
