Liverpool vs. Brighton Betting Tips: Salah can find the net in our 12/1 Bet Builder
Liverpool host Brighton in one of five 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. We’ve got @AnthonyEadson on hand to preview the action and provide us with his best bets for the game from Anfield.
It’s been a far from ideal start to the campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s side who already find themselves nine points behind league leaders Arsenal heading into October. However, Saturday’s match looks a tricky one in front of their own fans considering Brighton are unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 top-flight matches.
It’s the start of a new chapter for the Seagulls with Graham Potter departing for Chelsea. Brighton currently possess the best defensive record in the division having only conceded five goals so far which has seen them pick up 13 points from their first six matches.
New boss Roberto De Zerbi will be without Jakob Moder, Enock Mwepu and Jeremy Sarimento for the trip to Merseyside and will hope his new side can continue their bright start to the campaign under his leadership.
Liverpool’s injury woes have eased a little and Thiago could well return in the middle of the park. Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Andy Robertson all remain on the treatment table for Klopp’s men who are priced at just 1/3 to take all three points, while the visitors can be backed at a tempting 9/1 with several firms.
Liverpool vs Brighton Tips
The first selection I’m highlighting here is for Trent Alexander-Arnold to record one or more shots on target in the match. This is available at a current top-price of 11/5 (3.2) with BetVictor, while others such as Betfair and Paddy Power take a more conservative approach at just 13/10.
Trent’s attacking play often brings him more plaudits than his defensive work and I’m expecting a high scoring game on Saturday considering Roberto De Zerbi’s style of play, combined with Liverpool’s immense home form over the last few years.
In the 2021/2022 season 66.6% of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s shots on target came at Anfield. The attack-minded right-back registered at least one shot between the sticks in eight of his 15 home league appearances and with this in mind I think quotes of 11/5, implying a 31.3% chance of this bet landing, look quite generous.
For those who are looking for something at a bit more of a price, I’m touting a Bet Builder double which is available at just under 13/1 with bet365. The first part consists of Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister to be carded, which is available at 11/2 as a single. The Argentinian has netted four times this season and although he may be creating a name for himself as one of the best long range shooters in the league, he’s also picked up three yellow cards in just six appearances. An away trip to Anfield will be a big test for the 23-year-old up against Thiago, Fabinho and Harvey Ellliot and at the prices I think he’s worth a dabble on.
I’ll be pairing Mac Allister to be carded with Mohammed Salah to find the net anytime in the match. It may have been a slow start to the campaign for the three-time Golden Boot winner, but he’s still managed two goals this term and I think we will see a return to form in these coming weeks. Since the start of the 2020/2021 season, the Egyptian King has scored 47 league goals, more than any other player in that period and can get his name on the scoresheet after a brace for his national side during the international break.
