Liverpool vs Brentford Odds: Back Brentford to hit 4+ Shots on Target at Anfield

Liverpool take on Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday with the match the only one of the three top-flight fixtures not to be shown on TV. @AnthonyEadson is on hand with a preview of the game along with two data-driven plays that he likes the look of.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will have been disappointed not to get the win against a 10-man Arsenal side in the League Cup on Thursday after Granit Xhaka received his marching orders in the first half. The Reds now have a quick turnaround for the visit of Brentford on Saturday and remain unbeaten in 26 of their last 28 home league matches.
Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita are all away at the African Cup of Nations, while Divock Origi, Nathaniel Phillips, Harvey Elliott and Thiago are all injured. For the visitors, David Raya, Josh Dasilva and Charlie Goode remain sidelined, with this game coming a little too soon for Rico Henry and Zanka.
Brentford’s away form has not been great over the last couple of months with the Bees losing their last six on the road. Furthermore, Thomas Frank’s side have conceded at least two goals in their last six away matches and they will need to tighten things up if they are wanting to come away from Anfield with anything this weekend.
Liverpool vs Brentford Tips
The first selection I’ve picked out on Sunday is Brentford to have four or more shots on target in the game which is available at 2/1 with both Paddy Power and Betfair. I know I’ve already spoken about Brentford’s poor form on the road of late but I think we can expect a little more from them in this match than the odds suggest.
Thomas Frank’s men have had two extra days to prepare for this game and with Liverpool missing several key players I think chances will arise for Brentford. Liverpool failed to break down 10-man Arsenal on Thursday and with Divock Origi and Thiago still sidelined they look set to play a much weakened XI than in previous weeks.
Brentford have registered at least four shots on target in four of their last five league matches. They managed to put three goals past Liverpool in the reverse fixture down in the capital earlier in the season and I think there’s more legs in the 2/1 than at first glance.
I’ve also taken a lean towards Curtis Jones to get on the scoresheet anytime in this game with Unibet currently a standout best price on the youngster finding the back of the net. Jones was used as a substitute in Thursday’s game with the Gunners and injected some pace and drive into a Reds team that had looked a little flat.
After that positive performance in the second-half on Thursday I think we will see Jones start from the off against Brentford, most likely as part of a front-three with Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino. The 20-year-old scored his only goal of the season so far in the 3-3 draw with Brentford back in September and I fancy him here against a side that have been leaking goals on the road lately.
Betfar and Paddy Power have a rather skinny looking 6/4 on show here or a Curtis Jones goal and with him being almost double the price with Unibet at 15/4 this looks a little overpriced and an attractive bet in my opinion.
Best of luck to anyone following the selections and as always, please gamble responsibly.
