Leicester v Man City Tips: Bet on Gundogan to keep the goals coming

Live on Sky Sports, Leicester host runaway leaders Man City in a 5:30 kick off Saturday evening. Returning from the international break, Leicester will be confident heading into this clash. They’ve won their last 3 in all competitions including an impressive 3-1 cup win vs Man United and a positive result here would go far in their pursuit to play in the Champions League next season. However, that’s easier said than done. City have won 17 of their last 18 league games and will be out for revenge here after Leicester dispatched them 5-2 in the reverse fixture at the start of the season.
Team News:
Man City head into this with a full fit squad. Leicester are still without key players Justin and Barnes but will be boosted with the return of Maddison, after Rodgers confirmed he will be back in the squad.
Leicester potential starting line-up:
Schmeichel, Pereira, Soyuncu, Evans, Fofana, Castagne, Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison, Vardy, Iheanacho.
Man City potential starting line-up:
Ederson, Walker, Stones, Dias, Cancelo, Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling.
Ilkay Gundogan has been a revelation for this City side this campaign and has arguably been one of the players of the season. The free role he has been given to attack has seen him add goals to his game which has resulted in him being the club's top scorer in the league.
He continued his goalscoring form over the international break after converting a penalty, making it five goals in his last six games for club and country. The German ace has already netted 12 times in 23 league appearances so 11/4 for him to repeat this feat does scream value. This price on offer suggests that this bet has a 26% chance of winning but his goals to games would suggest otherwise. Most bookies have this same bet at around 6/4 which is probably about right, so I am happy to have a point on this with Betfair as my main play.
I expect Leicester to give this game a right go and if they are to have any success, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this man at the heart of it. Another who has stepped up his game this season and probably been the foxes most consistent player throughout.
The Belgian is averaging 1.2 shots per game this season in the Prem and has managed six goals in that time, further highlighting the attacking threat he possesses. As for hitting the target, this is something he has achieved in four of his last five games.
Despite the fact Man City hold some of the best defensive data in the league, I still feel the 2/1 is worth a poke. Leicester managed to sweep five past City in the reverse so there is no reason for them to go into this game fearful. Bet365 have the shot on target priced at a tasty 2/1 and this will be my second play.
For my longshot I am heading to Betfair and making the most of the same game multi feature. I am chucking in the two tips already explained but also adding a Rodri card to make a hefty 76/1 shot.
I am expecting Leicester to play on the counter and Rodri should be the man to try and break up the play for the away side. On top of that, the Spaniard has never been shy of a cynical foul, something Pep's holding midfielders are known for.
This is no banker by any means but this same bet is as short as 18/1 on William hill, so a nice price on Betfair which will give us some added interest Saturday evening.
Best of luck if you follow these tips, but as always, only bet what you can afford to lose.
