League Two Top Scorer Odds 2023/24: Notts County duo dominate the market
Ante-Post season is well upon us and with just a matter of days to go until the start of the EFL campaigns we’ve decided to take a look at the League Two Top Scorer betting with the odds quoted below from bet365.
Macaulay Langstaff: 6/1
Notts County are looking to take the football league by storm this season after their promotion from the National League. Macaulay Langstaff was the top scorer in the division with an incredible 42 goals and he has been priced up as the favourite to repeat his success in League Two at just 6/1.
David McGoldrick: 9/1
The signing of David McGoldrick looks an excellent addition for Notts County, with the Irishman having bagged 22 goals in League One for Derby County last season. McGoldrick may be in the autumn of his career at the age of 35, but can be backed at 9/1 here with most firms.
Paul Mullin: 10/1
Wrexham striker Paul Mullin is sure to be a popular selection this season, but punters should be wary as the former Cambridge striker suffered a punctured lung in a pre-season friendly against Manchester United in the US. For those looking to get behind Mullin in this market, 10/1 is available, although that is a price that will drift in the coming weeks.
Andy Cook: 12/1
The League Two top scorer in the 2022/23 season was Bradford City’s Andy Cook. The 32-year-old averaged a goal every 127 minutes, bagging on 27 occasions after being priced at 25/1 pre-season. This time round Cook is chalked up as a general 12/1 poke.
Mohamed Eisa: 16/1
MK Dons fans will be banking on Sundanese forward Mohamed Eisa to provide the goals this season as they look to bounce back to League One at the first attempt. Eisa scored 11 goals in the third-tier last term and could be a safe bet at 16/1.
Kyle Wootton: 16/1
After scoring 19 National League goals for Notts County last season, Kyle Wootton made the switch to Stockport County this summer. Dave Challinor’s men reached the playoffs in 2022/23, but they will be looking to go one better this time with Wootton brought in to bolster the attacking department.
Will Swan: 16/1
Will Swan went out on loan to his hometown club Mansfield last season, with the move from Nottingham Forest being made permanent in July. The 22-year-old managed 10 league goals in the previous campaign,, but with improvement expected for The Stags, he has been priced up at 16/1 to be crowned League Two top scorer.
Ollie Palmer: 20/1
With Paul Mullin set to miss the start of the campaign, more emphasis will be on Wrexham's Ollie Palmer to provide the goals for Phil Parkinson’s side. Palmer managed 17 goals last season and the last time he played at this level for Crawley he managed 13 in 28 appearances.
Paddy Madden: 20/1
The second Stockport County player in the top-10 of the market is Paddy Madden. The former Fleetwood striker notched 15 goals in two consecutive seasons for Fleetwood in League One a few years back and he can show that form this time round he should attain a healthy tally. Madden can be backed at 20/1 with Stoke-based firm bet365.
Danny Johnson: 20/1
Danny Johnson had six months on loan at Walsall last season, scoring an impressive 12 goals in just 22 appearances. Walsall could only muster a 16th place finish in League Two last term, but with the signing of Johnson being made permanent this summer, they will be hoping his goals can fire them up the table.
