Latvia vs. Wales Betting Tips: 7/5 and 4/1 selections for EURO 2024 qualifier
Wales are in need of a win to keep themselves in EURO 2024 qualification, and what better opponent to face next than the pointless Latvia in Group D.
Latvia vs Wales Tips
Following a 0-0 international friendly with South Korea, Wales are back in EURO 2024 qualifying action against an impotent Latvia side.
As mentioned earlier, things are looking rough for the Northern Europeans, who sit at the foot of Group D, having scored just four goals and not owning a single point to their name after four fixtures.
In fact, aside from a Baltic Cup semi-final penalty shootout victory over Estonia almost a year ago, Dainis Kazakevics' side are winless in their last nine games.
That includes Wales claiming all three points from their first meeting back in March, thanks to a first-half strike from Kieffer Moore.
In terms of cards received, it's the one battle that Latvia aren't being outdone in. They've had more yellows than their opposition in each of the team's last eight matches, including three yellows to Wales' one in that March head-to-head.
It's difficult to gauge exactly what this contest could bring about for Wales. Despite their struggles - failing to register just one win in almost 18 months - The Dragons do possess enough quality to seize this opportunity.
Rob Page has hit a big lull in charge of his national side since securing the permanent gig in charge, but if ever there was a confidence booster to get your team back on track then it's against a team like Latvia.
The HT/FT aspect of this bet has landed in each of Wales' last three wins since March 2022, which have come against Austria, Ukraine and Monday's opponents Latvia.
We can see a similar series of events occurring here; Wales take an early lead in the first half, possibly entering the break two goals to the good. It's then damage limitation from the hosts as the visitors take their foot off the gas and cruise to an all-important three points in Riga.
As for the travelling side keeping a clean sheet, Latvia's have failed to score in two of their last four outings, firing a blank against Wales and in their most recent game against Croatia over the weekend.
