Juventus vs. Salernitana Betting Tips: Dusan Vlahovic to continue fine form on home soil
Your Sunday night football fix comes in the form of a Serie A duel between Juventus and Salernitana in Turin, live on BT Sport 1 at 7.45pm.
Ahead of the sixth wave of fixtures, Juventus will be disappointed at their 7th place standing in the table. They’ve not lost domestically yet, with two wins and three draws to their name, but some early dropped points means they are already behind the likes of Atalanta, Napoli, Milan, and Roma.
Since their opening 3-0 win over Sassuolo, Juventus have struggled for consistency, winning just one of their following five games in all competitions, which includes a 2-1 defeat to PSG in the Champions League. Back on home soil on Sunday, Max Allegri knows his side need to get back to winning ways in order to keep the heat off his back and to prevent the Old Lady from losing further ground in the title race.
Juventus (2/5) could find life tough against a Salernitana (17/2) side that are unbeaten in four games and have lost just twice in 13 when including the backend of last season. Salernitana are also located in the top-half (10th), albeit with just one win so far, while they’ve drawn three of their other four games.
Juventus vs. Salernitana Tips
An intelligent, physical and technical striker, it's no surprise that Dusan Vlahovic has been quick out the Serie A blocks this term, scoring four goals in five games. Only Bologna's ex-West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic has more goals to date (5).
Juve teammate Arkadiusz Milik has been in decent form too - scoring in each of his last two league games - but there's no question who the main man is. Vlahovic has had nearly double the amount of shots (13) than any of his teammates and will be confident of adding to his tally back at the Allianz Stadium this weekend, where all four of his 22/23 goals have been scored to date.
In fact, each of the striker’s last seven goals have come in front of his own fans, while he scored three goals against Salernitana last season. So, at 21/20 (Betfred) to score anytime, it's Vlahovic who gets the nod.
We're continuing on the Dusan Vlahovic train for our second bet, which requires the in-form striker to score, Juventus to win, and both teams to score.
We've already discussed Vlahovic's goalscoring exploits on home soil in the above section, so the first part of this bet needs no introduction.
As for Juventus on home soil, they've won two of their three games in front of their fans this season, drawing the other against Roma. They've only been beaten once at home in the league since November and won both meetings with Salernitana last term.
However, I do expect the visitors to put up a real fight and at least find the back of the net. After firing blanks in their opening two games of the season, they've since scored seven goals in three games. Boulaye Dia has scored in each of those three games and could prove to be a real handful for the hosts on Sunday night.
