Israel U21 vs. England U21 Betting Tips: Back the Young Lions to Win to Nil
Israel Under 21’s take on England Under 21’s in the first semi-final at the European Championships on Wednesday. The game kicks-off at 17:00 gmt and here at BettingOdds.com, we have previewed the action and provided you with our best bets.
These two sides faced each other in the group stage with England coming out the 2-0 winners back on Matchday 1. The Young Lions followed up their trio of 2-0 victories in Group C with a 1-0 win over Portugal in the quarter-finals with a strike from Newcastle-man Anthony Gordon.
Lee Carsley’s side are now priced at around 5/4 with most trusted bookmakers to go on and lift the trophy, with the final taking place on Saturday 8 July 2023.
Israel’s youngsters managed to see off Georgia on penalties in their quarter-final clash last weekend. This will be the first time that Israel have ever reached the final-four of this competition, and by doing so, they have also qualified for next summer’s Olympic tournament that will take place in Paris.
Israel U21 vs England U21 Tips
It’s been a profitable tournament for our selections involving Lee Carsley’s side with another win coming via our main selection on Sunday with England getting the job done to win the game in 90 minutes when priced at a rather generous even money (1/1).
This time round they can be backed at just 4/11 to advance to the final via a win in normal time. This does look a little short, especially considering Ben Johnson and Max Aarons are suspended for this one, while Jacob Ramsey’s tournament is over after picking up an injury.
Instead, we’ll be backing them at odds-against to win the game to Nil on Wednesday. England have been solid at the back for the majority of this tournament and are still yet to concede a goal. There is quite a large discrepancy between different bookmakers and the prices they are offering on this selection with William Hill going 17/20. We’ll therefore be taking the 6/5 offering, which at the time of writing is available with both BetVictor and PariMatch.
The Arsenal youngster has only started two of England U21’s four matches so far out in Georgia and Romania however, with Jacob Ramsey out injured Smith Rowe should return to the starting XI.
Smith Rowe has found the net twice already this tournament and despite England not putting in the greatest performance against Portugal they should have more than enough to get through here.
Another key angle is that Israel will be missing their first choice goalkeeper for this game, Daniel Peretz. The Israeli shot stopper has been one of the standout performers at the tournament so far and will be a huge loss for this semi-final. Under 19’s keeper Tomer Tzarfati should replace him between the sticks and it would be no surprise to see England try and test him at every opportunity.
Smith Rowe is priced at a general 9/4 with most firms to find the net so we’re therefore recommending the 11/4 available with Paddy Power, that can be found in their ‘Power Prices’ on the match page.
