Inter Milan vs. Bayern Munich Betting Tips: Two Bets for a cracking opener in Group C

The first round of the Champions League continues on Wednesday, and we’re looking at Group C, arguably the group of death, which has thrown up a cracking opening fixture.
Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Barcelona will all fight it out with Viktoria Plzen for the top two places in the group, and our first game of the group stage see the perennial German Champions travel to the iconic San Siro to face three-time European winners Inter Milan.
Inter Milan vs Bayern Munich Tips
These two sides have history in this competition, facing each other five times previously, most notably when Inter beat Bayern 2-0 in 2010, to complete a famous treble.
As ever, Bayern are among the favourites to win the Champions League, and with the German league almost a foregone conclusion these days, their focus is always to try and add to their six European winners’ medals. Bayern currently sit third in the Bundesliga, although still undefeated, with three wins and two draws from their opening five games.
Despite their two recent draws, they will have confidence heading into the fixture, having scored a whopping 27 goals in their seven games in all competitions, an average of 3.8 per game.
For Inter, it’s been more of a trickier start in the league, and they come into this game off the back of a 3-2 loss against their city rivals AC Milan. They currently sit in eighth place in Serie A, with three wins and two losses from their opening two games, but the expectation is that they’ll work their way back up the table sooner rather than later.
Lautaro Martinez will be looked to continue his good start to the season, with Joaquin Correa set to start up top alongside him. Inter will be hoping to go deeper into the competition this year, after a round of 16 loss to Liverpool last season.
Starting off, we’re looking at Bayern’s new boy, and Champions League regular, Sadio Mane, to score anytime in this game.
Mane has had a fantastic start to life in Germany, as was to be expected. Five goals in his opening seven games, with an average of a goal every 111 minutes in all competitions, Inter will know how much of a threat the Senegal international is heading into Wednesday. During his time at Liverpool, Mane excelled on European nights, and finished as the club’s third highest ever scorer in the competition with 24 goals. Mane also created history in last year’s competition, beating Didier Drogba as the highest scoring African in the knockout stages of the UCL with 15 goals.
Expect his runs in behind to worry Inter’s three at the back, and don’t be surprised to see his name on the scoresheet.
Next up, we’re looking at Bayern to win the game, with both teams scoring. This line has landed in both of Inter’s losses this season, with it also coming in during Bayern’s wins against Leipzig and Frankfurt.
The attacking talents of both sides is known throughout Europe, with too many quality players to name, and with both teams looking to make a winning start to this year’s competition, expect plenty of chances, with ultimately Bayern’s strength showing through to come out on top.
Good luck if you’re following either of these bets, and please gamble responsibly.
