Inter Milan vs. AC Milan Betting Tips: Back Stefan de Vrij in the fouls market
We have the first Derby della Madonnina of the season on Saturday evening as Inter take on AC at the San Siro. We’ve asked our man Anthony Eadson to preview the action and provide us with two tips for the occasion.
Inter Milan vs AC Milan Odds
It’s first against second in Serie A, with both of these sides boasting a 100% record so far after three matches. Inter have also yet to concede a goal this term, with wins coming against Monza, Cagliari and most recently Fiorentina in a 4-0 demolition job.
Stefano Pioli’s side faced their city rivals five times in the 2022/23 season and will be well aware that they lost four of those, including both legs of the Champions League semi-final. Milan have impressed in their three league matches so far and beat Roma 2-1 on their most recent outing, despite having 10 men for the final 30 minutes of the match.
Inter are classed as the home side for Friday’s encounter and they have been made the Even money favourites by most betting sites to get the three points. The draw can be sided with at 15/8, while those looking to get behind AC Milan can do so at a general 9/4.
Inter Milan vs AC Milan Tips
Both of my picks on Saturday come from the player fouls market and for my main play of the evening I’ve taken a lean towards Inter’s Stefan de Vrij committing at least one foul in the match. At the time of writing even money is available with either Paddy Power or Betfair.
Milan derbies can often be heated affairs and I’ll be hoping referee Simone Sozza is in a disruptive mood, blowing for plenty of fouls at the San Siro. In his three matches so far this season, de Vrij has conceded foul totals of 2,1,1. Skybet go just 8/13 for the Dutch defender to give away at least one in this match giving plenty of appeal to the even money offering from Paddys.
I’ve also had a bit of loose change on a 40/1 longshot consisting of three players all to commit two or more fouls in the match.
The first of those is Hakan Calhanoglu who topped the Inter ranks last season when it came to fouls in Serie A with 45 in 32 appearances. The Turkish midfielder cleared this line in both league matches against Milan last season with totals of three and two and looks a solid proposition to do so again here as both teams look to maintain their perfect record.
Rafael Leao is next up and although he may have only given away one foul across his three matches this season, looking back at last term he conceded two in a 35 minute cameo off the bench in his most recent match against Inter. Skybet have Leao priced at 15/8 to commit two or more fouls on Saturday which again gives appeal to the 4/1 single on show with Paddy Power.
Rounding off the trio is Christian Pulisic who has made a positive start to life in Italy after making the switch from Chelsea in the summer. I tipped Pulisic to give away two fouls against Roma for which he duly obliged and I feel he has a strong chance again considering this is his first Milan derby.
This Bet Builder pays 15/1 with Sky so we’d recommend the 40/1 offering with Paddy Power or Betfair.
