Huddersfield v Derby Predictions: Two player props for Wednesday night's game

Wednesday night sees two more games taking place in the Championship and we've asked @OddsTerrier to look at the match taking place at The John Smiths Stadium between 7th placed Huddersfield Town and 23rd placed Derby County. He has analysed the stats and form book and selected two bets for you to look over.
Ok, let me just admit something before I start this article. I am a Huddersfield Town fan of 26 years for my sins, but will endeavour to maintain my neutrality for the duration of this piece. I will not under any circumstances let my emotions take over. Ok enough of that, up the Town! Erm, I mean on with the preview...
Huddersfield come into this clash unbeaten in nine under manager Carlos Corberan but have drawn five of those games and need to start converting some of those draws into wins if they are to mount a serious promotion push. The Terriers have been punching above their weight all season long and are exceeding most Town fans' expectations by hovering around the playoff spots. They are best priced at 13/10 to win tonight and move back into the top six.
Derby County are another team who are defying all expectations. Despite an initial 12 point deduction, followed by a further nine points in November, County have continued to rack up impressive wins over promotion candidates and are only seven points off safety. Could they pull off the Great Escape and Mission Impossible combined? They are 13/5 to win this away fixture and notch up another three points. The draw is available at 9/4.
Huddersfield v Derby Tips
I don't really like predicting the match odds when my own team is involved and with two sides in decent form, so I'm going to give it a big swerve. Instead I've picked out two player props that I like the look of, both of which will be fairly obvious to Hudders fans.
Firstly I've gone for Town right wingback Sorba Thomas to chalk up another assist to add to his eight in the league and three in cup competitions. Only five players have more assists in the Championship than the 22-year-old Welshman, who was picked up for a pittance from non-league Boreham Wood. Thomas isn't the quickest of wingers but is skilful, direct and is a superb crosser of the ball. He also takes the majority of Huddersfield's corners.
He's 4/1 to nick another assist here.
Secondly I'm hoping our resident master of the dark arts, Town keeper Lee Nicholls strikes again. Nicholls has picked up six bookings this term, all of those for time wasting. He is one of those players that you love when playing for your own team and despise when they are lined up against you. The 29-year-old ex MK Dons stopper has the second most bookings for the Terriers and was up to his old tricks on Friday night against Stoke. He's now picked up three cautions in his last five outings.
Despite a lot of people picking up on this last week he is 14/1 to be carded again. He's as low as 6/1 at other bookmakers so the price at 365 is huge value.
If you decide to follow any of these selections then please remember to gamble responsibly.
