Guinea-Bissau vs Nigeria Prediction: Super Eagles to win again despite rotations

Wednesday evening sees the conclusion of Group D in the Africa Cup of Nations and this match looks intriguing. Nigeria boast a 100% record thus far and will qualify in first place regardless of the result from the last two group games. Guinea-Bissau on the other hand will likely need to win here to qualify, having only picked up one point from their first two games. Nigeria will likely make changes here having secured top spot, yet remain favourites at 4/5. The draw is around 51/20 and Guinea-Bissau are 9/2 in a game they have to win. 

Guinea-Bissau were without their coach Baciro Cande, first choice goalkeeper Maurice Gomis and Joseph Mendes in their last game versus Egypt and it's unlikely they will return here. Nigeria have a full squad to pick from. 

First up we have a selection in the match market and we like Nigeria to win again here. It's likely the Super Eagles will rotate some key players including Kelechi Iheanacho as they are guaranteed to finish top of Group D, however, they should still have enough quality to get past a Guinea-Bissau side that has yet to score a goal at AFCON 2021. The Bissau-Guinean's are only averaging half as many shots per game as the Nigerians and I expect that to continue here.

Next up we've moved into the bookings markets and one name that stands out is Jefferson Encada, a right winger who has been playing as a makeshift right back. The 23-year-old was released by Portuguese club side Leixões recently and has picked up four yellow cards in his time there whilst playing in a more advanced role. For the national team he has committed 1.5 goals per game and picked up one caution in his two games thus far and I fancy him to get in trouble again tonight against a Nigeria team that has a lot of quick, skillful players.
