Fulham v Tottemham Tips: Loftus-Cheek an attractive proposition in the shots market

Thursday’s aren’t generally associated with Premier League football but this week we have three fixtures to get stuck into. Our man @AnthonyEadson is on duty for Fulham v Spurs and has picked out three football tips he likes the look of for the game at Craven Cottage that kicks off at 6pm.
Scott Parker will have been disappointed to not take all three points from Selhurst Park on Sunday in a 0-0 draw which saw his side accumulate an xG total of 1.37 in comparison to Crystal Palace’s 0.17.
Fulham are priced at 3/1 with most bookmakers to claim the win against Tottenham on Thursday and The Cottagers are unbeaten in their last five league games. Ivan Cavaleiro may come back into the starting line-up in place of Bobby Reid, with Tom Cairney the only confirmed absentee for the hosts.
Spurs cruised to a 4-0 victory on Sunday at home to Burnley on Sunday and are priced at even money to beat Palace this week. Against the Clarets, Gareth Bale put in one of his best performances in a Tottenham shirt since returning to the capital and The Welshman should keep his place on Thursday with Giovani Lo Celso the only Spurs player confirmed to miss the trip to Craven Cottage.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek 1+ shot on target - 2.5pts @ 5/4 Paddy Power
I fancy Fulham to give Jose’s Mourinho’s side a good game on Thursday evening and I’m taking a lean towards Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the shots on target market. The 25-year-old can currently be backed at 5/4 to hit that target once, which looks to be the industry top-price. In his last home game, the former Chelsea midfielder racked up four shots and can often find himself in shooting positions playing just off the striker.
This selection has landed in six of Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s last ten league matches and he’s proved a popular selection with punters over the last few months. In the reverse fixture against Spurs in January, Loftus-Cheek attempted five shots with one of them hitting the target. Fulham are desperate to pick up points in their relegation battle and with this in mind I think they will take the game to Spurs, which can hopefully result in a shot on target for our man Ruben.
I’m sticking with the shots on target market for my second selection, which comes from Fulham’s back line. This comes in the form of Joachim Andersen to test the Spurs keeper with a shot on target at the price of 5/1, again Paddy Power.
The Danish defender recorded an impressive five shots against Fulham on Sunday and is an aerial threat at set-pieces with his 6ft 3 frame. Notably, Andersen was on free-kick duty at the weekend, with him having two attempts from outside of the box, one of which hit the target.
David Coote is the referee in charge here for this game and he currently ranks second of 19 referees to have taken this charge this season when it comes to fouls per game with 24.33 on average. Should Andersen be on free-kick duty again, it only bolsters the chance of this selection landing, but even with his aerial threat considered I think the 5/1 looks reasonable.
For those who fancy the double on Thursday, this can be backed with Betfair at the price of 15/1. Let’s hope Fulham can let off plenty of shots against Mourinho’s side, and if you are having a bet, please do so in a responsible manner.
