Fulham vs. Nottingham Forest Predictions: Two of the Championship's finest face off on Tuesday
Two of the best sides in the division bout at Craven Cottage on Tuesday as Fulham welcome Nottingham Forest at 19:45 live on Sky.
Fulham vs Nottingham Forest Tips
The hosts secured their promotion back to the top flight in their penultimate game with a 3-0 win over Preston North End. Since then they have drawn to Bouremouth showing little sign of taking their foot of the gas as they pursue the title.
Having said that, Marco Silva could rotate here, giving opportunities to Antonee Robinson, Nathaniel Chalobah and Bobby DeCordova-Reid.
As for the visitors, Steve Cooper's side are flying, winning seven of their last eight games. He will likely name an unchanged side from the one that edged past Peterborough last time out.
Siding with goals in a game involving the league's two most prolific Championship sides seems the most logical thing to do here.
Fulham, the hosts, top the second tiers goalscoring charts. They are currently one shy of the century and have scored at least third more goals than every other side in the division.
They welcome Forest to Craven Cottage, the division's second highest goalscorers with 6 to their name. Their games have averaged 2.45 goals this campaign as they have found the net in 79% of the 34 league matches they have played under the tutelage of Cooper.
The hosts' fixtures have averaged 3.2 goals per game and they have only failed to score in four league games all campaign! Offensively, they have an embarrassment of riches and with them already promoted, they may loosen up defensively here. It is worth pointing out that they have already shipped six goals in four games this month, Coventry put three past them and they conceded twice vs Derby.
With Keinan Davis injured, Sam Surridge should continue alongside Brennan Johnson in attack.
Despite only starting 12 games this campaign, Surridge has nine goals and one assist to his name and is expected to start back-to-back league games for only the third time this season. I fancy him to add to his tally.
The former Stoke striker has started Forest’s last two games, scoring in each, and has found the net in half of his last eight appearances.
For Forest, he has a goals per 90 of exactly one, over the course of his career it is 0.45 and if you were to base his price on that fact, 6/4 would be worth taking here.
Surridge is quite a prickly character. He loves coming back to haunt an old employer and enjoys the big occasion which is why I think it is worth combining him to score and be booked at 24/1 with Betfair and Paddy Power.
This was a bet that landed in his last appearance as Surridge picked up his fifth league card of the campaign. In a career spanning just shy of 144 league games, he has accumulated 13 in total.
Best of luck if you are backing any of these selections and please remember to gamble responsibly.
