Fulham vs. Everton Betting Tips: Stick with Gordon to be carded in the capital

Fulham vs Everton Odds
Three Premier League games are being shown live on TV on Saturday with Fulham against Everton being the 5:30pm offering on Sky Sports. It’s been a decent start to the campaign for both of these sides and here at BettingOdds we’ve picked out two tips for the game based on the data from the season so far.
Heading into the weekend Fulham are just three points behind Newcastle in fourth and have already scored two more goals in 2022/2023, than they did in the entire season they were last in the Premier League. The Cottagers are unbeaten in their last three in the top-flight with Aleksandar Mitrovic seeking his tenth goal of the season despite it still being October.
There were plenty of positives for Frank Lampard last weekend as he saw his side brush away Crystal Palace 3-0 at Goodison Park. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was also on the scoresheet after a long time out with injury and the grim realities of last season’s relegation battle now seem a world away, with James Tarkowski and Connor Coady transforming both the Toffees defence and dressing room. However, Lampard must not get too ahead of himself as just four points separate themselves and bottom of the league Nottingham Forest.
Fulham vs Everton Tips
The first selection we are touting on Saturday comes from the shots market over at BetVictor where Fulham’s Joao Palhinha has been priced at 17/10 to clear the 2+ line. Marco Silva’s side are averaging just under 13 shots per game in home matches this season and will be hopeful of taking at least a point here with Everton having failed to win 21 of their last 23 away matches in the Premier League.
When taking a look at Joao Palhinha’s shot data from this season, we can see that 75% of his attempts have come in home matches at Craven Cottage. The former Braga and Sporting Lisbon midfielder has scored two goals already and has cleared this mark of 2+ shots in four of his five appearances on home soil. All things considered, odds of 17/10 implying just a 37% chance of this bet landing, look very backable.
Next up we are recommending one of our old favorites here at BettingOdds.com by backing Anthony Gordon to be carded. The Everton youngster has been making a bit of a name for himself when it comes to card collecting and currently stands alone as the player to pick up the most yellows in the league this season with six in just 11 matches.
Of course, the likelihood is that Gordon will not go on collecting cautions at this rate for the rest of the campaign, but we are baffled to see that bet365 are still pricing him at 11/2 to find his way into the book.
Referee John Brooks will be the man in charge of this one and he averages a healthy 4.2 yellows per game across the five top-flight matches he has taken control of this term. It’s also interesting to see that the last time John Brooks officiated an Everton game, he booked Anthony Gordon. No player is priced bigger than Gordon on bet365 to be carded on Saturday which is just too big for a player with six in 11 matches.
