Man City vs Newcastle - Over 2.5 Goals
Over 2.5 Goals has been a consistent trend in Man City’s recent matches, landing in each of their last 10 across all competitions. While their attack remains potent - scoring 2+ goals in nine of those games - their defence is very vulnerable, conceding three against Real Madrid and five against Arsenal in recent weeks.
That sets up an intriguing contest against a Newcastle side chasing their seventh consecutive away win. With Alexander Isak in outstanding form, netting 13 times in his last 11 league appearances, the visitors are more than capable of exposing a fragile home backline. Over 2.5 Goals has also landed in 10 of their last 11 league games, and we expect that trend to continue on Saturday afternoon.
West Ham vs Brentford - Over 2.5 Goals
I'm also expecting 3+ goals in the capital when West Ham take on Brentford.
The Bees have been prolific on the road, scoring seven times in their last two away games - thrashing Southampton 5-0 before edging past an in-form Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park. A hefty 17 of their 24 league matches have seen over 2.5 goals, with a total of 84 goals scored and conceded this season.
West Ham, meanwhile, continue to struggle for consistency and are yet to hit their stride under Graham Potter. Their defensive issues persist, managing just one clean sheet in their last 13 games - against bottom-placed Southampton - while conceding at least twice on eight occasions during that run. They do, however, have influential talisman Jarrod Bowen back in the side and scoring.
Southampton vs Bournemouth - Bournemouth To Win
Speaking of Southampton, I’m afraid it looks like they could be in-store for their 20th defeat in 25 league games this season when they welcome in-form south coast rivals Bournemouth to St Mary’s.
The Saints are on a dismal run, losing their last six home league games, and recently suffered a 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Burnley on their own turf.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, have been in excellent form, with only league leaders Liverpool beating them in their last 14 matches across all competitions - a run that includes nine wins. The Cherries are unbeaten in their last seven away games, winning five, with standout victories of 3-0 at Man Utd and 4-1 at Newcastle.
Aston Villa vs Ipswich - Aston Villa To Win
Next, we head to the Midlands, where we’re backing Aston Villa to secure a routine three points against struggling Ipswich.
Villa, fuelled by the high-profile winter arrivals of Donyell Malen, Marco Asensio, and Marcus Rashford, extended their unbeaten run at Villa Park to 11 games with a 2-1 cup win over Spurs last weekend.
Still competing on multiple fronts, Unai Emery’s side will be eager to keep their top-four hopes alive, with a victory keeping pressure on the teams above them.
Ipswich, meanwhile, face a daunting challenge. The Tractor Boys are on a four-game league losing streak, conceding 14 goals in that run. Looking further back, they’ve lost nine of their last 12 league matches, making an upset here somewhat unlikely.
Fulham vs Nottingham Forest - Nottingham Forest Double-Chance
Finally, we’re siding with Nottingham Forest to come away from Fulham with at least a point on Saturday afternoon.
Third-placed Forest put seven past Brighton in their last league outing, securing their eighth win in 10 top-flight matches. With Chelsea and Man City facing tough fixtures this weekend, the Tricky Trees have a great opportunity to create some breathing space in the table.
Fulham, meanwhile, have struggled for home wins, with their 1-0 defeat to Man Utd extending their winless run at Craven Cottage to five games. Only Liverpool have picked up more points on the road this season than Forest, who look well-placed to avenge September’s home loss to Fulham or at least leave with a point to their name.
