Everton vs. Brentford Predictions: Eriksen a value play in the shots markets

Everton welcome Brentford to Merseyside in the last of seven Premier League games that take place on Sunday. We've previewed the action and provided you with our best bets from Goodison Park for the game that can be seen live on Sky Sports at 4:30pm. 

Frank Lampard will have been disappointed to leave with just a point on Wednesday against already relegated Watford. The Hornets had lost 11 on the bounce at Vicarage Road prior to the stalemate with Everton, whilst the 0-0 draw also brought them their first clean sheet of the season on home soil.

The Toffees are unbeaten in their last four at home and we wouldn’t be expecting a goal-fest considering under 2.5 goals has landed in all of their last six in front of their own fans. Andros Townsend, Yerry Mina and Donny van de Beek are all sidelined while Ben Godfrey and Fabien Delph are both doubts. 

Brentford bounced back from their defeat to Manchester United with a comfortable 3-0 win over Southampton last weekend. It’s been a successful first season in the Premier League for the Bees, and Thomas Frank will be keen for them to finish strongly. He will however, be without Frank Onyeka and Zanka, while both Sergi Canos and Samam Ghoddos have returned to training. 

Our selections for this game centre around one man in Brentford’s Christian Eriksen. The Dane has been exceptional since arriving back in London in January, putting in some high class performances that have had certain pundits speculating about a return to a club playing european football.

Our first selection here is for Eriksen to register 2+ shots in the match which is available at a surprisingly large looking 5/4 with BetVictor. Punters who pay close attention to the shots markets will know that Eriksen has been somewhat of a cash cow in recent weeks landing 2+ shots in his last seven matches. That includes fixtures against Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham showing he has the ability to rack up the attempts against sides at both ends of the table. 

In his last seven appearances the former Spurs man has recorded shot figures of 2,3,3,3,2,2,2. This selection is odds-on with all other bookmakers currently displaying prices at the time of writing and we’ve no doubt that this one certainly looks a value play.

We’ll also be recommending Christian Eriksen to have 1+ shot on target in the match at a rather tasty looking 9/5, again with BetVictor. Since his arrival in West London, Eriksen has made nine league appearances and in that period has recorded 8 shots on target. 

The 30-year-old is the free-kick taker for Brentford and loves test keepers from range. This bet has landed in six of Eriksen’s last seven appearances and another key factor here could be that Brentford did not play midweek. Thomas Frank will have had much more time than Frank Lampard to prepare for this game and his side should be a little fresher than their opponents. 

Everton may have beaten Chelsea and Manchester United at home in recent weeks with the majority of their points coming in front of their fans this season, although they should not underestimate Brentford who have won six of their last nine.
