England U21 vs. Germany U21 Betting Tips: Back Smith-Rowe to find the net

England U21’s play their final group game of the European Championships on Wednesday as they take on Germany. The game will be played in the Adjarabet Stadium and will kick-off at 5pm GMT. Here at BettingOdds.com we’ve provided you a preview of the game and two bets which we think represent value in the betting markets.
Lee Carsley’s side have already booked their place in the quarter-finals after 2-0 victories against both The Czech Republic and Israel. The Czech youngsters are the only side who can match England’s total of six points in Group C, however the Young Lions’ win on Matchday 1 ensures their head-to-head record will guarantee top spot.
Germany on the other hand are at risk of heading out of the tournament. The reigning champions overcame Portugal 1-0 in the final back in 2021, but after a draw with Israel and a 2-1 defeat to Czech Republic, they must pick up the three points here if they are to advance to the last-eight.
England U21 vs Germany U21 Tips
We’ve picked out two bets that we like the look of on Wednesday with the first of those available with either Paddy Power or Betfair. We’ll be combining both teams to score, with England U21’s to win or draw the game, which at the time of writing pays 6/5, implying a 45% chance of this bet landing.
The last time these two sides played each other was back in September 2022 in a friendly where England came out 3-1 winners. Carsley’s side may not necessarily need to win this game but with them having scored in 18 consecutive matches, we fancy them to bag against a Germany side who have been disappointing so far in this tournament.
BTTS has landed in five of Germany’s last six in all formats and with them needing we expect them to make an assault on England’s goal it looks a strong proposition in this clash. Germany have failed to keep a clean sheet in both of their European Championship matches so far and by adding England Double Chance to BTTS, takes us up to a very backable 6/5 with Paddy Power.
We’ll also be having a little tickle on Emile Smith Rowe to register Over 1.5 Shots on Target against Germany, which can be backed at 9/2 with bet365. At the time of writing 365 are one of the only trusted betting sites to have the shots markets priced up, so it may be worth having a little shop around closer to kick-off to see if any bigger prices are available.
It wasn’t the most memorable of campaigns with Arsenal for Smith Rowe but he is making his mark at this tournament after scoring in both matches so far at the U21 Euros. Confidence should be high after strikes that found the net against Israel and The Czech Republic and 9/2 for him to record Over 1.5 Shots on Target looks a little big here considering this game could well open up into a high scoring affair should Germany throw caution to the wind.
