England vs. France Betting Tips: Walker a generous price to be booked against Mbappe in World Cup Quarter-Final

The whole of the country will be behind the Three Lions on Saturday evening and after a 7/1 winner on Tuesday, Tipster Wizard returns with his best bets for England vs France.
Live on ITV, England go up against France in the quarter-finals of the World Cup at the Al Bayt Stadium this Saturday night at 7pm. Gareth Southgate’s men continued their impressive World Cup campaign by dispatching Senegal 3-0 in the round of 16 clash and will go into the quarterfinals full of confidence.
The Three Lions have now kept a clean sheet in their last 3 World Cup games since conceding 2 goals against Iran in their opening fixture. They have been defensively resolute and clinical on the attacking front and Gareth Southgate will be aware that they will have to be at their absolute best if they are to overcome the reigning champions France.
Les Blues also topped their group but lost their final group stage game 1-0 to Tunisia as they fielded a second string lineup. They had no problems against Poland in the round of 16 game as their star man Mbappe continued his stellar form scoring a brace as he charges towards the Golden Boot. Olivier Giroud has also stepped up big time in Karim Benzema’s absence, scoring 3 goals in 3 starts for France in this World Cup.
If England are to progress, they will certainly have to come with a plan to minimise the threat these two possess. History has not been kind to England as far as their head to head meetings with France are concerned, as they have only won 3 of their 17 meetings against the World Champions in all competitions.
They did however beat France in their only two World Cup meetings back in 1966 and 1982. The reigning World Champions are still without a clean sheet so far in this World Cup campaign and despite all their attacking prowess, they can be vulnerable defensively and that is one area England will look to target.
With the world’s best players in action, this is sure to be an absolute blockbuster of a World Cup quarterfinal and I am excited to be covering this game with 2 of my best betting angles provided below:
Team News:
Ben White is out for England while Callum Wilson & Declan Rice are doubtful. Raheem Sterling has returned to the camp after flying back to the UK for personal reasons.
France have no injury/suspension concerns going into this game.
England possible starting lineup:
Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Bellingham, Rice, Henderson; Saka, Kane, Foden
France possible starting lineup:
Lloris; Kounde, Varane, Upamecano, T. Hernandez; Tchouameni, Rabiot; Dembele, Griezmann, Mbappe; Giroud
England vs France Tips
- Jude Bellingham Over 1.5 tackles
- Adrien Rabiot Over 0.5 tackles
- Mbappe Over 1.5 shots
- Bet Builder @ 4/5
Jude Bellingham is having a sensational World Cup campaign so far and is averaging 2.8 tackles per game. He has had 4, 2, 2 and 3 tackles in the World Cup so far hitting at least 2 in all 4 games. Up against a tough opposition in France, he will be expected to get stuck in and his tackle numbers will be expected to stay high.
As for Adrien Rabiot, he is averaging 2.5 tackles per game in the World Cup so far winning at least 1 tackle in all 4 games.
Finally, Mbappe is averaging 5.3 shots per game in the World Cup and is the leading goalscorer at the tournament with 5 goals. I expect him to comfortably clear the Over 1.5 line as he looks to add to his goal tally in his massive quarterfinal. Combining these 3 selections gives us a solid Bet Builder @ 4/5 and I am happy to stake 1pt on that as our main bet for this game.
Mbappe is the leading goalscorer in the World Cup with 5 goals in 3 appearances for the reigning World Champions. He has scored in all three starts so far and scored a brace against Poland in the Round of 16 with two beautiful curling shots into the top corners.
England have been resolute defensively but if there is one man who can breach it, it has to be the man in form: Kylian Mbappe. In the round of 16 clash against Senegal, Kyle Walker struggled against Ismaila Sarr and was lucky to escape a booking after bringing him down from behind. He will have to go up against Mbappe and even though Kyle Walker is quick, Mbappe will still trouble him with his pace and trickery and force Walker to bring him down to pick up a booking.
Combining these 2 selections gives us a cracking longshot @ 13/1 with PaddyPower and I am happy to stake a small 0.25pt on that as our 2nd bet for this massive quarterfinal.
