Dinamo Zagreb vs. Chelsea Betting Tips: Two plays for Croatian UCL clash

Thomas Tuchel and his Chelsea side will kick off a fresh Champions League campaign with an away trip to Croatia's capital to face Dinamo Zagreb in one of Tuesday's early kick offs.
Dinamo Zagreb vs Chelsea Tips
Live on BT Sports, Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb host Chelsea in the Champions League group stage this Tuesday at the Stadion Maksimir. The hosts qualified for the Champions League group stages in emphatic fashion, beating Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in extra time.
They have had a perfect start to the season winning 7 out of 8 games in the league and are still unbeaten. Having scored 27 goals in just 8 league games, they are comfortably the top scorers in the league and will be coming into this game full of confidence in the hope of causing an upset against one of the elite teams in Europe: Chelsea.
The visitors reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League last season getting knocked out by Real Madrid courtesy of a late Benzema winner despite a very strong showing. Tuchel’s men have been at their best in this competition and they will be one of the favourites to progress to the later stages of the tournament.
The Blues have not had the best of starts in the league, having taken just 10 points off their first 6 games losing away to Leeds and Southampton but they will be eager to start with a win in this competition. This will be their first ever competitive meeting and due to Chelsea’s current form, I will be steering clear of any result based bets in my preview.
A cracking Champions league opener awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with 2 of my best betting angles for this game included in the preview below:
Team News:
Dinamo Zagreb come into this game with a fully fit squad with no missing players.
N’Golo Kante & Thiago Silva are out for Chelsea. No other missing players.
Dinamo Zagreb possible starting lineup:
Livakovic; Ristovski, Sutalo, Peric, Ljubicic; Spikic, Ademi, Ivanusec, Orsic; Petkovic, Baturina
Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Arrizabalaga; James, Fofana, Koulibaly, Cucurella, Chilwell, Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount, Sterling, Havertz
Dinamo Zagreb have been at their goalscoring best so far this season having scored a huge 27 goals in 8 league games (3.38 per game). They scored in every home game of the Champions League qualifiers and have been very strong at the Stadion Maksimir. However, they have been leaky defensively having conceded in their last 9 out of 10 games in all competitions.
As for Chelsea, both teams have scored in their last 4 out of 5 games in the Premier League and even though they are scoring goals, their defence has been very shaky since the exit of Antonio Rudiger. At 19/20, we are getting exceptional value for both teams to score so I am happy to stake 1pt on that as our main bet for this game.
- Mislav Orsic over 1.5 shots in the match
- Raheem Sterling anytime goalscorer
Mislav Orsic has been Dinamo Zagreb’s player of the season so far. He is averaging 2 shots per game and has scored 3 goals in Dinamo’s UCL campaign so far. He will also be on free kicks which further enhances his chances of clearing the “over 1.5 shots” line.
As for Raheem Sterling, he is Chelsea’s main threat in the final third having scored 3 goals in his last 2 appearances for the club. He should get plenty of chances to continue his splendid run of form in front of the goal against a Dinamo defence that has conceded in their last 9 out of 10 games. Combining these 2 selections gives us a cracking bet builder @ 9/2 and I am happy to take that as our 2nd bet with a small 0.25pt stake.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
