Denmark vs. Tunisia Betting Tips: Back the Danes to start the World Cup with a win

Day 3 at the World Cup will be the first in which four matches take place, with one of those being Denmark vs Tunisia. We’ve previewed the action and provided you with two bets that we like the look of.
After reaching the semi-finals of the European Championships last Summer, Denmark will arrive at the World Cup with high hopes. Kasper Hjulmand’s side are just 28/1 to lift the trophy in December and are the 1/2 favourites to start their campaign with a win against Tunisia.
France and Australia are the other two sides in this group and after beating France twice in the Nations League already this year, the Danes will have hopes of topping Group D.
Tunisia have been dealt a tough hand by being included in a group with both France and Denmark. Jalel Kadri’s side will be hoping their star man and ex Sunderland player Wahbri Khazri can produce the goods on the big stage once again after being directly involved in their last four goals at the World Cup.
Khazri also managed three goal involvements at the African Cup of Nations, but his side are not well fancied to win this game against Denmark, priced around 13/2 with most firms to do so.
Denmark vs Tunisia Tips
The first of our two selections for this game is for Denmark to Win and there to be under 3.5 goals in the match. At the time of writing 10bet are the best priced bookmaker, with 21/20 on show, implying a 48.8% chance of this bet landing.
As mentioned earlier Denmark have twice defeated the reigning World Champions France this year and can no longer be considered ‘dark horses’. There is a gap in quality here between the two sides and we cannot see Tunisia troubling the Danes too much. However, we expect them to try and keep things tight and they have kept an impressive 17 clean sheets in 28 matches since the African Cup of Nations in 2021.
The other selection we have honed in on focuses on a player who was exceptional in Denmark’s Euro 2020 campaign in Joakim Maehle. The attack-minded left-back is 7/2 to register an assist with Unibet, while others such as Betfair take a slightly more conservative approach at 11/4.
In Maehle’s last eight International matches for Denmark the 25-year-old has managed four assists and with a very winnable game against Tunisia for their opener, we think he could make it five in his last nine. Denmark should be on the front-foot from the off here and with the majority of their attacks coming down the left we are touting the Maehle assist on Tuesday.
