Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Prediction Odds and Betting Tips: Mo Salah tipped in 9/1 double

Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off comes from Selhurst Park as lowly Crystal Palace host title-chasing Liverpool.
Matthew O’Regan previews the game and highlights his best bets.
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Predictions
After a dire run of form last season, stalwart manager Roy Hodgson was dismissed by Crystal Palace, with promising Austrian boss Oliver Glasner hired as his replacement. Under the guise of Glasner, the Eagles soared up to 10th place, with thoughts of European qualification this year echoed around the Croydon faithful.
If Palace are to match these lofty ambitions, they need to start picking up points fast, as they sit in the bottom three winless after five games. Defeats against Brentford, West Ham and Everton, and draws against Manchester United and Chelsea, leave Palace lingering inside the relegation zone, knowing a loss against Liverpool sees them in the bottom three heading into the international break.
The Liverpool post-Jurgen Klopp era started with back-to-back 2-0 wins away at Ipswich and at home to Brentford, before dismantling rivals Manchester United 0-3 at the Theatre of Dreams. The first bump in the road came with a shock 0-1 home loss to Nottingham Forest, but the Reds have bounced back with five wins on the bounce in all competitions.
On the injury front, Crystal Palace will be without Moroccan international Chadi Riad, Mali international Cheick Doucoure, USA international Chris Richards and Brazilian youngster Matheus France.
Liverpool are a bit more fortunate on the injury front, with only Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliot out of action.
Liverpool were imperious at home last season, winning 15 games and losing just once. Despite losing to Nottingham Forest at Anfield this year, the Reds have been impressive and sit top of the table with five wins from six.
Crystal Palace have struggled for form this year after a strong end to last campaign and are one of five teams without a win this season as they sit in 18th. Glasner has yet to get his Eagles side soaring with the departure of key forward Michael Olise.
It was a disappointing transfer window for Palace, who have struggled to bring in a player to match Olise’s output, with Mateta also struggling to replicate last season’s purple patch.
Dominik Szoboszlai has been highlighted as a key cog in Arne Slot’s system, with the Hungarian midfielder starting every Premier League game thus far. The 23-year-old has made a foul in every Premier League game this season, averaging 1.63 fouls per 90, as well as picking up two yellows.
There has been an average of 3.9 fouls per match from centre midfielders against Crystal Palace this season.

Another key cog in Arne Slot’s system is Ryan Gravenberch, who has played every minute of Premier League and Champions League football this year.
The 22-year-old was slow to adapt to English football, starting just 12 Premier League games in Jurgen Klopp’s tenure. This year, the Netherlands’ international has been a standout midfielder in an impressive Liverpool side.
Last year, Gravenberch averaged 1.62 fouls per 90, topping that this year by 0.05. He has also been booked twice already.
As mentioned, Crystal Palace draws a lot of fouls from midfielders, with four centre midfielders booked against them in all competitions. With the lively Eberechi Eze buzzing around the midfield area, who wins 2.34 fouls per 90, Gravenberch may find himself in the book again at a tempting price.
Mo Salah has been a phenomenon since joining Liverpool in 2018, with his lowest-scoring season coming in 2020, where he scored 23 goals. This season, the Egyptian already has five goals in nine appearances, scoring four in six Premier League starts.
Salah is averaging 3.28 shots per 90, accumulating 0.66 xG per 90.
