Crystal Palace vs. Fulham Betting Tips: Best bets including a 59/1 longshot

Just three matches kick-off at 3pm in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon with Crystal Palace against Fulham being one of the trio. We’ve asked our man Anthony Eadson to preview the action at Selhurst Park and provide us with his best bets.
After taking the lead at Villa Park last weekend Crystal Palace will have been disappointed to come away empty handed. Roy Hodgson’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat after Odsonne Edouard had opened the scoring and they now sit ninth in the table after collecting seven points from a possible 15.
Fulham sit one place behind Palace in the standings having also amassed seven points so far this campaign. The Cottagers managed a 1-0 home win over Luton in their first fixture after the international break and are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Crystal Palace.
Taking a look at the match result odds and the hosts have been made the 4/5 favourites with most betting sites. The draw can be backed at 15/8, while those looking to get behind an away win for Fulham can be sided with at 11/4.
Crystal Palace vs Fulham Tips
I’m beginning to sound a bit like a broken record here at bettingodds.com, but I’m once again going with the angle of backing players to commit fouls who are the direct opponent of Jordan Ayew.
This week it’s Timothy Castagne who will be up against the Palace attacker. The Belgian’s £15m transfer from Leicester went a little under the radar towards the end of the window and he has only started one game for his new employers so far, in which he gave away one foul and was carded.
Ayew remains the most fouled player in the Premier League this term despite only having featured for 25 minutes against Villa last Saturday. His ‘fouls drawn’ figures for this season now read: 2,4,4,5,1 and with players like Eberechi Eze also in attack for Palace, I think there is a strong chance Castagne gives away at least one foul.
It’s also worth noting that when Leicester played Crystal Palace at The King Power last season, Castagne gave away four fouls. Sky Bet have priced the full-back at 1/3 to commit one or more fouls on Saturday so I’d recommend taking the much juicer offering of 10/11 that is on show with Betfair and Paddy Power.
I’ve also had a little tickle on a 59/1 longshot for the game consisting of Jordan Ayew to have one or more shots on target, Jeffrey Schlupp to be carded and Timothy Castagne to give away two or more fouls.
At 10/11 I like the look of Jordan Ayew to hit the target at least once against Fulham. Ayew has hit the target in three of the four matches in which he has played over 45 minutes this season with the only exception being against Arsenal. Sky Bet go 8/13 on this selection, so again I feel we are getting a much healthier price.
Next up it’s Jeff Schlupp to be carded. The Palace man ranked seventh in the Premier League last season for total fouls committed and also collected seven yellow cards. Referee Paul Tierney having dished out 3.8 yellows per game across the course of last season and is one of the better referees for cards in my eyes.
Rounding off this 59/1 Bet Builder is Timothy Castagne to give away two or more fouls. I’ve already spoken quite a bit about the angle here with him having to take care of Jordan Ayew and I think it’s completely feasible to envisage him having a difficult afternoon against some of the trickiest attackers in the league.
