Coventry vs. Blackpool Predictions: Expect a repeat of August's encounter

Although the Premier League resumes its usual business following Saturday's restart, the Championship has never stopped rolling for any winter break.

All 24 second tier sides are in action on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Coventry vs Blackpool at 7:45pm on Tuesday 7th February being the focus here.

There are no points to currently separate the two sides sitting in 12th and 13th respectively. However Coventry have two games in hand over their opponents, and as many as three over some teams above them.

The Midlanders are odds-on favourites at 20/23, while Blackpool are as high as 18/5 with William Hill to take home the victory.

Starting things off is an anytime goalscorer shout in the form of Cov's Viktor Gyokeres.

He is the Sky Blues' joint-top scorer in the league this season with 10 goals. Not only did the Swede etch himself onto the scoresheet during Saturday's FA Cup Fourth Round tie with Southampton, but the 23-year-old also notched Coventry's last league goal in a 1-0 win over Stoke two games ago.

All of this paired with the fact that Gyokeres was the match winner in the reverse fixture back in August makes him the shortest priced goalscorer in the market - him being as low as 5/4 to score anytime with one bookmaker.

Bet365 have him boosted from 7/4 to 2/1 to score anytime on Tuesday, and considering that he is highest elsewhere with Paddy Power at 17/10, I'll take this small boost.

For our other play, we'll maintain Gyokeres to score anytime and pair it with there to be under 2.5 goals in the match.

Minus Saturday's 3-1 win over a leaky Bristol City side, Blackpool's three league games prior to this had all seen fewer than three goals scored.

14 of Coventry's 27 league games in the 2021/22 campaign have seen under 2.5 goals.

As well as Gyokeres scoring when the two teams previously met this season, that match also saw just a single goal, meaning this particular bet would have landed that day.
