Chelsea Women vs. West Ham Women Betting Tips: Fran Kirby backed to continue hot streak

Chelsea Women take on West Ham Women in the WSL live on BBC 2 on Wednesday night at 7.05pm.
Below we preview the all-London affair at Kingsmeadow, and in the process bring you two tips to chew on…
Chelsea Women vs West Ham Women Tips
Defending WSL Champions Chelsea suffered a shock defeat in their opening game, losing 2-1 to newly promoted Liverpool. However, Emma Hayes’ side rebounded with a 2-0 victory over old foes Man City, which puts them 5th in the table.
A reminder that Chelsea also lost their first game last season - 3-2 to Arsenal - only to bounce back to win seven games on the spin, then eventually retained the title on the final day of the season.
Meanwhile, West Ham stamped a 1-0 win over Everton on the board in Gameweek 1, before losing 0-2 at home to Man Utd last weekend. Like Chelsea, they have three points to their name, but their inferior goal difference puts them a spot further back in 6th.
A glance at the H-2-H statistics doesn’t make great reading for West Ham, who have drawn one and lost 10 of their last 11 encounters against the Blues - including the last nine in a row - and it’s Chelsea who head into Wednesday’s game as short as 1/33 for the three points. West Ham are a whopping 75/1 to follow in Liverpool's footsteps and conjure up a shock upset, while even a draw is a double-figure price out at 14/1.
Chelsea’s all-time goalscorer has over 100 goals for the club in all competitions, including 21 goals in her last 21 WSL games, plus 13 assists too.
Two of those goals have come in her last two games against Liverpool and Man City, a hot streak she’ll be looking to continue on Wednesday. A tricky and mobile player who possesses excellent movement and game intelligence, Fran Kirby’s eye for goal has seen her find the back of the net four times in her last six games for club and country.
The Lioness will undoubtedly cause West Ham all sorts of problems, and you can find her odds-against at 6/5 with Paddy Power to net anytime, a far more appealing price than the 1/4 on offer for teammate Sam Kerr.
Considering that the Euro 2022 winner has also opened the scoring in both WSL games to date, Kirby also attracts attention at 5/1 to repeat the feat for a third time on Wednesday.
We’ve pieced together a little double via Paddy Power’s Bet Builder function, which pays just short of 18/1.
For this to come in it requires Fran Kirby to score - more details on her stats can be found above - and Chelsea to win 2-0. A bet which successfully landed in their last fixture against Man City.
2-0 has been a common theme in West Ham games of late, losing four of their last seven WSL matches by this scoreline, which was also the outcome of their last visit to Chelsea back in January. They've also failed to score in four of their last seven meetings with the Blues.
Chelsea have yet to turn on the gas burners in front of goal, but should still be confident of a relatively comfortable victory on Wednesday, with the focus at this early stage of the season getting results on the board.
