Chelsea vs. West Ham Predictions: An intriguing clash to kick off Super Sunday

Live on Sky Sports, Chelsea host West Ham in the Premier League this Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea vs. West Ham Tips
The hosts sit 3rd in the league table with 62pts, 2 above 4th placed Arsenal with 2 games in hand. Having lost their last 2 Premier League home games 4-2 and 4-1, Tuchel will be looking for a reaction from the Blues against a solid West Ham side who will have one eye on their Europa League semifinal 1st leg against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday. Chelsea have been fantastic away from home boasting the 2nd best away record in the league but their home form has been a cause for concern this season picking up just 26 out of a possible 45 points.
The absence of key players Rudiger and Kovacic will also be a challenge for Chelsea but they will take confidence from the fact that they have only lost to West Ham once in their last 15 meetings at Stamford Bridge. West Ham will be motivated to do the double over Chelsea in this massive London Derby so another toughly contested clash is expected.
A competitive Premier League clash awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with 2 of my best betting angles for this game included in the preview below:
Team News:
Kovacic, Chilwell, Callum Hudson-Odoi & Rudiger are out for Chelsea while Ross Barkley and Christensen are doubtful.
Kurt Zouma, Issa Diop & Angelo Ogbonna are out for West Ham.
Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Mendy; James, Chalobah, Silva, Alonso; Jorginho, Kante; Mount, Ziyech; Havertz, Werner
West Ham possible starting lineup:
Fabianski; Johnson, Dawson, Rice, Cresswell; Bowen, Fornals, Soucek, Lanzini, Benrahma; Antonio
- Over 1 goals in the match for Chelsea
- Over 11.5 shots in the match for Chelsea
Tuchel will be putting out a full strength Chelsea team after his changes to the lineup backfired against rivals Arsenal as they suffered a 4-2 defeat. Despite that loss, Chelsea are in great goalscoring form having scored a total of 13 goals in their last 4 games in all competitions. Another factor for backing this selection is West Ham’s defensive issues as they only have 1 fit centre back, Craig Dawson. They will also have one eye on the Europa league semifinal this Thursday and that could play into the Blues hands as they look to get back on track in the league.
2nd part of the selection includes Chelsea to clear the “Over 11.5 shots” line. The Blues average 16.1 shots in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge and managed 19 efforts on goal against West Ham in the reverse leg. Combining these 2 selections gives us a cracking bet-builder @ 4/5 that we will be backing with a 1pt stake. This bet-builder landed in the reverse leg and should land here again.
Kai Havertz was rested against Arsenal midweek but should start here for the Blues. He scored a header against Real Madrid in the 1st leg and had a powerful header saved in the 2nd leg. He is one of Chelsea’s biggest aerial threats and with West Ham potentially playing a midfielder in the CB positions, Havertz to get a headed shot on target @ 4/1 looks good value to me for a small 0.25pt stake.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
