Chelsea vs Newcastle Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips: Get 5/6 on Chelsea to Win

Chelsea are back at Stamford Bridge on Sunday when they welcome Eddie Howe’s Newcastle to the capital.
Tom Winch has analysed the markets to bring us his best bets for the game.
Chelsea vs Newcastle Predictions
The home side are 6th in the Premier League, whilst the visitors occupy 9th. Enzo Maresca’s side ran out 4-1 winners in Greece on Thursday night, while Newcastle have failed to score in their previous two matches despite recording 35 shots and over 4.0xG.
I think Chelsea fans can be relatively happy with their start to the campaign. Only Brighton, Villa and the big three have accumulated more points. City and Liverpool have beaten Maresca’s men, although both games were competitive. They’ll only improve as the season progresses; Chelsea will be eyeing up a top four finish come May.
Newcastle are underperforming offensively. Howe’s men have scored eight goals from 12.5xG. They’ve scored multiple times in two matches this term. Alexander Isak has found the back of the net just once across 495 minutes. Confidence levels can’t be too high. They face a tricky task at the Bridge. Being wasteful isn’t an option here, as Chelsea could punish them.
The price on the home side to win this encounter looks like a good selection. Maresca will take positives in their clash with Liverpool despite tasting defeat. Joao Felix, Mudryk and Nkunku all scored in Athens against Panathinaikos which will boost confidence levels. Only Spurs, Liverpool and City have a greater xG figure this term. Defensively, they’re not perfect and have a mistake in them, but the offensive firepower is impressive. Palmer and Jackson have 19 goal contributions between them already, Noni Madueke has bagged four times, while Pedro Neto, Nkunku, and Jadon Sancho can all pose a threat.
I’m not sold on the Newcastle defence. Lewis Hall and Valentino Livramento are young but have quality. Dan Burn and Fabian Schar will be in for a difficult afternoon. Nico Jackson won’t give them a moment of rest and I’d expect Chelsea’s offence to have plenty of joy throughout the match, where I believe they’ll take all three points.

Anthony Gordon is a guaranteed starter for Newcastle but his starting position ahead of Sunday’s clash isn’t confirmed. I’m hoping he operates on the left of the front three. The Englishman has been winning fouls consistently this season with his pace and trickery. Reece James is likely to begin at right back and will be in for a battle.
The Newcastle forward has won 24 fouls this season, 3.15 per 90. Gordon has been fouled multiple times in seven Premier League matches. Reece James has had a tough time with injuries over the last few years. Chelsea’s captain played 53 minutes against Liverpool last weekend which were his first minutes since May when he was sent off against Brighton.
Let’s back the defender to receive a card on Sunday. He won’t be up to full speed after a lengthy time away and was shown a red card the last time he faced Newcastle.
Nico Jackson is looking like a talent. He’s improving and wants to extend his goal tally this weekend. The Senegalese international has scored five times this term, including the equaliser at Anfield last weekend. He’s a man full of confidence.
Chelsea’s number 15 has taken 21 shots this season, with 12 hitting the target. That’s an average of 3.06 and 1.75 per 90, respectively. Jackson averages 0.80xG per 90, an impressive statistic. Overall, he has scored 19 times in 43 Premier League matches for Chelsea. I expect he’ll score more than the 14 he achieved in the 23/24 campaign.
These two selections look like they have every chance. The price of 9/1 is too good to turn down.
