Chelsea v Man City Prediction: Three best bets for massive Premier League clash

Live on BT Sport, the European champions Chelsea host the current Premier League champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge this Saturday at 12.30pm.
The Blues currently sit top of the Premier League table after five games and are still unbeaten in all competitions.
They have conceded just one goal in the league so far and that too came from a penalty against Liverpool at Anfield. Star striker Romelu Lukaku has been settling well as he has scored three league goals for Chelsea already and looks to be the final piece in Thomas Tuchel’s squad which could help them challenge for the Premier League title.
The opposition are Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions.
City currently sit fifth in the league after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Southampton at the Etihad.
Failure to sign a replacement for Sergio Aguero is already proving to be a cause for concern but it is still too soon to be pressing the panic button and a positive result against the European Champions this weekend could send a statement to the rest of the league to not underestimate the current Premier League champions.
They will be looking to avenge the champions league defeat and will try to avoid a fourth consecutive loss to Chelsea as they head to Stamford Bridge for the early kick-off.
This is a clash of two of the best teams in Europe managed by two world class managers and a competitive clash is on the cards. As usual, I have included my three best bets for you in the preview below for this blockbuster clash:
Team News:
Pulisic and Mason Mount are out for Chelsea.
Benjamin Mendy is out for Manchester City while Laporte, Stones, Zinchenko, Rodri and Gundogan are doubtful.
Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Silva, Rudiger; Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Havertz, Lukaku
Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Gundogan; Jesus, Torres, Grealish
Chelsea v Man City Tips
Chelsea v Man City Odds
Chelsea are unbeaten this season so far and sit top of the league, but this will be their biggest challenge yet.
However, Thomas Tuchel has now beaten Manchester City three games in a row including the Champions League final. He has made this Chelsea side extremely hard to beat and they are yet to concede an open play goal in the league this season.
Manchester City are missing important defenders Laporte and Stones and a few more important players are questionable to play.
Their lack of a potent goalscorer and Chelsea’s resilient defence make me lean towards the hosts. I think this is a fantastic price for the Blues to get the better of Guardiola’s men for the fourth time in a row considering we also have the safety of keeping the draw onside with this selection.
Take Chelsea Draw No Bet @ 1/1 with a 1pt stake.
Cesar Azpilicueta will have to deal with the tricky Jack Grealish and it is highly likely that he gets booked for a foul on him.
Opposition right backs have been booked in City’s last two out of three Premier League games and we could very likely see another getting booked here.
Azpilicueta was also booked in the FA Cup semi final against Manchester City last season and with Grealish running at him, 9/2 looks a fantastic price for us to get involved. Take this with a small 0.5pt stake.
This is expected to be a tactical battle similar to the Champions League final which ended 1-0 in Chelsea’s favour.
Both managers will likely approach this game cautiously and not give up many clear cut chances to the opposition. This could result in a cagey affair and so under 2.5 goals will form part of our longshot.
Referee Michael Oliver is averaging three cards per game in the Premier League so far this season and the last time these two sides met in the champions league, just three cards were dished out.
Ruben Dias will have to deal with Romelu Lukaku on the counter and I can see him picking up a yellow card for a tactical foul on him.
Take this bet with a small 0.5pt stake. Combining these three selections gives us a juicy longshot @ 16/1 and I am happy to stake a very small 0.25pt on it.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
