Chelsea vs. Liverpool Predictions: Tipster Wizard's three tips for the FA Cup final

Chelsea v Liverpool Odds
Live on BBC One and ITV1, Chelsea go up against Liverpool in the final of the FA Cup this Sunday at the Wembley Stadium.
The Blues have looked shaky in recent weeks struggling for results in the Premier League, but will be full of confidence after their resounding 3-0 win over Leeds on Wednesday.
Liverpool on the other hand are fighting on many fronts as they are still part of the title race and will also be playing the Champions League final against Real Madrid later this month. They are on a splendid run of form having gone unbeaten in their last 15 consecutive games in all competitions and will also be confident after beating Manchester City in the semi-finals.
Chelsea v Liverpool Tips
- Bet Builder @ 4/5 – 1pt (Bet365) - Selections Below
- Under 2.5 goal line @ 1/1 - 1pt (Bet365)
- Game decided after penalties @ 5/1 - 0.25pt (Paddy Power)
These two sides have already come up against each other in the final of the League Cup earlier this season at Wembley and it was an intense battle that ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, with Liverpool eventually winning the penalty shootout.
Two of Europe’s best teams are going head to head for England’s most coveted cup competition and it is an extremely tough game to predict.
A mouth-watering final awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with three of my best betting angles included in the preview below:
Team News:
Ben Chilwell & Hudson-Odoi are out for Chelsea while Kante & Kovacic are doubtful.
Fabinho is out for Liverpool. No other injuries or suspensions.
Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Mendy; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger; James, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Alonso; Mount; Havertz, Lukaku
Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Keita, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Mane, Diaz
- Mason Mount Over 1.5 shots in the match
- Luis Diaz Over 0.5 shots in the match
Mason Mount is averaging 2.3 shots per game in the Premier League and has had at least two shots in his last 10 out of 11 games for Chelsea. He loves taking shots from outside the box and had four shots when he faced Liverpool last time in the League Cup at Wembley earlier this season.
Luis Diaz averages 2.9 shots per game for Liverpool and has had at least one shot in his last ninme consecutive games for Liverpool.
Combining these two selections gives us a cracking bet builder @ 4/5 and I am happy to stake 1pt on that.
Chelsea and Liverpool have already faced each other in a final at Wembley earlier this season and that game ended 0-0 after 120 minutes.
I expect another tight final with not too many clear cut chances given away by either side.
Four of their last five head to head meetings have seen less than three goals and I expect that trend to continue here with such a huge trophy on the line.
As for Liverpool, they have only scored more than one goal in two of their seven cup finals under Klopp so far. There is a trend of their attack struggling to explode in the finals and Chelsea’s back five defence will try and make it tough for them to get a break through.
Based on that, Under 2.5 goal line @ 1/1 looks good value.
I am expecting a competitive game between these two elite teams who have already played out a 0-0 in a final before this season.
All three of their meetings this season have ended in draws and another draw in this final will not be surprising.
At a price of 5/1, I am tempted to back the game to be decided on penalties with a small 0.25pt stake as my final bet for the final.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
