Chelsea vs. Brentford Betting Tips: Toney to bag 20th goal of the season at Stamford Bridge

The packed Premier League fixture list continues on Wednesday evening with Chelsea taking on Brentford in a West London derby. The game from Stamford Bridge is live on BT Sport and we’ve previewed the action and provided you with our two best bets.
Chelsea have lost all four games since Frank Lampard replaced Graham Potter at Chelsea. The Blues have only scored one goal in that period and remain in the bottom half of the table in 11th. Only four sides in the division have scored fewer goals than Chelsea this season and with a trip to Arsenal next week, three points are very much needed here.
Brentford are also winless in the month of April and are currently on a run of six matches without taking three points in the Premier League. The Bees sit 10th in the table, five points above Chelsea. Thomas Frank’s side managed an emphatic 4-1 win in this fixture last season and managed a 0-0 draw on home turf when the pair met back in October.
Chelsea vs Brentford Tips
First up on Wednesday and for our main play, we are backing both Ivan Toney and Kai Havertz to have at least one shot on target. This double is available at 6/4 with bet365, while other betting sites such as Paddy Power and Betfair go considerably shorter at 19/20.
Only Erling Haaland (54), Harry Kane (48) and Ollie Watkins (43), have registered more shots on target this season than Ivan Toney (41). The Brentford front man has recorded at least one shot on target in 22 of his 30 league appearances this season and with Chelsea struggling defensively, there’s plenty of scope for Brentford to get something here.
With a severe lack of goals in recent weeks the emphasis will be on finding the net for Chelsea on Wednesday. Kai Havertz should start in attack and in his last six league outings he has recorded shots on target totals of 1,2,4,3,2,0. No player has more for Chelsea this season and combining him and Toney pays 6/4 with bet365.
We’ll also be having a couple of quid on Ivan Toney to score and be carded in the match, which is chalked up at just over 15/1 thanks to the bet365 Bet Builder feature. It’s been an excellent season in front of goal for Toney who has already bettered his tally of 12 last season, by seven goals this time round. Only Kane and Haaland have scored more goals in the league and Chelsea have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven of their last eight.
Toney also leads the way for Brentford when it comes to card collecting with nine yellows in 30 appearances. On four of those occasions when he has been carded this season, he has also scored in the same match. Bet365 are top-price on both Toney to score and be carded at Stamford Bridge and combining the two pays 15/1 for a selection that has landed four times, most recently last month at Southampton.
