Championship Winner Odds 2023/24: Leicester City title favourites ahead of Ipswich

The 2023/24 Championship season is racing along at a rapid rate with a couple of teams in particular enjoying excellent starts to the campaign.
However, there's still a heck of a long way to go from now until May, meaning there's plenty of time for other clubs to make a move in the table.
Here at BettingOdds.com, we've had an updated look at the Championship winner market.
Leicester City - 4/5
With so many talented players in their squad, bookmakers chalked up Leicester as the 6/1 ante-post favourites to be crowned Championship winners in 2023/2024.
Leicester, under the leadership of Enzo Maresca, have gone on to enjoy a superb start to the season. In fact, it's been nothing short of spectacular, with the Foxes setting a new record after accumulating 10 wins from their opening 11 games, penning notable away wins over the likes of Southampton and Norwich.
As a result, Leicester are now odds-on to win the title at 4/5 with the majority of online betting sites.
Ipswich - 10/3
Ipswich have been the big movers in the betting with bookmakers' slicing their odds from 20/1 to just 10/3 to win the league.
The Tractor Boys achieved automatic promotion last season under Kieran McKenna who has carried the momentum into the current campaign.
Leeds - 13/2
Sam Allardyce may have been paid half-a-million to take control of Leeds for just four matches, but his experience could not save the West Yorkshire side from the drop.
A summer of change saw Daniel Farke eventually appointed in Big Sam's place.
The German is a two-time Championship winner who will be eyeing up a third title in new surroundings with Leeds, 13/2, currently well positioned within the top-6.
Southampton - 28/1
After finishing at the foot of the Premier League table with a measly 25 points, Southampton are now playing Championship football for the first time since 2012.
Saints, who appointed Russell Martin as their manager over the summer, were initially the joint-second-favourites at 8/1 to go on and lift the trophy next May.
However, a bright start was swiftly followed by a nightmare four consecutive defeats, two of which were at home to Leicester and Ipswich.
It's evidently going to take some time for Martin's methods to properly kick-in, with the Saints now as big as 28/1 to win the league.
Sunderland - 40/1
20/1 in the summer, Sunderland are now out at 40/1, despite enjoying a decent start to the season.
This is due to the dominance of Leicester and Ipswich, not Sunderland's own displays which on the whole have been very positive.
The stand-out result to date was a 5-0 thrashing of Southampton, while they've also beaten the likes of Blackburn, Cardiff, and Watford.
Middlesbrough - 50/1
When Michael Carrick was appointed Boro boss back in October 2022, they sat 21st in the Championship table. They then went on to finish fourth, but were beaten in the play-off semi-final by Coventry City.
Clear progress has been made in the North East and, as a result, they were priced up at just 10/1 for second-tier glory in 2023/24.
But Boro then failed to win any of their opening seven games, suffering five defeats, which shot them all the way out to 100/1.
A return to winning ways in late September/early October has got the club firing in the right direction, but they still have a lot of ground to make up on the leading contenders.
Selected Others
Norwich and Watford have both earned titles as yo-yo clubs over recent years and can be backed at 50/1 and 250/1 respectively.
Both West Brom and Coventry are out at 100/1, with fast-starting Birmingham and their surprise new manager Wayne Rooney - appointed in October - available at 150/1.
