Celtic vs. Rangers Predictions: Expect a feisty, cautious affair at Celtic Park

Celtic host rivals Rangers in this top of the table Old Firm Derby at Celtic Park on Wednesday. This huge clash will be televised live on Sky Sports at 7.45pm. The hosts are looking to close a two point gap between themselves and the league leaders so this is a hugely significant battle for both sides’ title ambitions. A win for the Hoops here would help them climb to the top of the table and they come into this game in splendid form. They are unbeaten at home this season so far and have won their last 11 out of 12 games in all competitions as well. They will also have their fans pushing them on and home advantage can certainly make a difference in these derbies. However, Rangers have lost just once all season and are unbeaten in their last 21 league games. They will be disappointed by the result against Ross County at the weekend where they conceded a 96th minute equaliser to drop two points and will be aiming to put it right by getting a positive result at the Celtic Park. Considering the league positions, Rangers would even be happy with a draw here so the onus is on the hosts to try and win this encounter.
An exciting and potentially heated Old Firm Derby awaits us and as usual I have you covered with my 2 best betting angles for this game included in the preview below:

- Over 0 cards in the 2nd half for Celtic
- Over 0 cards in the 2nd half for Rangers
- Under 3 goals in the 1st half for both teams combined
- Under 3 goals in the 2nd half for both teams combined
This is a game of huge significance as top spot is at stake so we can expect a heated 2nd half as the match will be nearing the end. Bobby Madden is the ref here and the last time he was in charge of an Old Firm Derby he dished out six yellow cards and a red card so the appointment is perfect for us. I also do not expect this game to be a goal-fest by any means. This is a high pressure game and both teams will be expected to be cautious and not let the other team create clear cut goalscoring chances. A great angle to look at would be under three goals in both the first and second halves. This angle has landed in their last five out of five head to head meetings at Celtic Park and I think it is a solid addition to our betbuilder. Combining these four selections gives us a cracking bet builder @ 4/5 and I am happy to stake 1pt on that as our main bet for the Old Firm Derby.
Connor Goldson is Rangers’ joint most booked player with five yellow cards to his name and has been booked in two of his last four league games. Greg Taylor should have a tough evening ahead of him as he will be up against the tricky Amad Diallo and could pick up a booking by bringing him down. Jota had three shots on target in his last start for Celtic and will be one of Celtic’s main threats on Wednesday night. Amad Diallo had a fantastic debut for Celtic getting two shots on target in 66 minutes and also scoring a goal. Combining these four selections gives us a juicy longshot @ 22/1 and I am happy to have a very small 0.25pt stake on that.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
