It's the final day of Wimbledon, and we finally have our final two players fighting for the Grand Slam title. Novak Djokovic is going for his eighth Wimbledon title, meanwhile Carlos Alcaraz will be hoping to replicate his 2023 run and beat Novak Djokovic just like he did in the final a year ago. After a profitable preview on Saturday, Max Saakyan returns with his best bets.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic Tips

Carlos Alcaraz comes into this match hoping to defend his title and points. Although he had a disappointing start to the year for his standard, losing out to Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, and then losing to Nicholas Jarry in Buenos Aires just a month later, he managed to find his form again winning Indian Wells, where he dropped just two sets and provided four bagels or breadsticks in the process.
Fast forward to the next Grand Slam, and he finally clinched his first ever Roland Garros title where he had to fight hard against Jannik Sinner in the semi finals coming back from 2-1 down in sets, before having to do the exact same thing again against Alexander Zverev in the final.
He came into Wimbledon after a disappointing loss to Jack Draper at Queen's, and needed a five set battle against Frances Tiafoe to progress to the Round of 16, a scare for the 21 year-old. His toughest test came against Daniil Medvedev in the semi finals, who really found his form the past couple weeks beating tournament favourite Jannik Sinner in a gruelling match.
Now we have Novak Djokovic, gunning for yet another Grand Slam title. His 2024 season hasn't been great, where he hasn't managed to win a tour-level title this year yet. If he doesn't win one this year, it will be the first time that has happened to him since 2005 when he was 17! Meanwhile he's won at least one Grand Slam title a year since 2017.
There was a slight surprise that the Serb did play Wimbledon, after he tore his meniscus in his right knee during a match at the French Open and had to withdraw in the quarter-finals, where he had to have surgery and returned to tennis less than a month later. However, he did make it, and had his opening round match against Vit Kopriva where he smashed him 6-1 6-2 6-2. Novak Djokovic hasn't looked like his old self, dropping a set to Jacob Fearnley and Alexei Popyrin. He got relatively lucky in the quarter-finals, where Alex De Minaur had to pull out due to injury, which would have been his toughest test yet. He managed to beat an impressive Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-finals, 6-4 7-6, 6-4.
The pair have faced each other a total of six times already, where their head-to-head record is 3-3. Their most notable appearance was that Wimbledon final, where Carlos Alcaraz won a historic match 1-6 7-6 7-1 3-6 6-4, truly one of the best finals we've witnessed in the past decade. I like Carlos Alcaraz's odds here, especially considering Novak Djokovic is likely still not fully fit.
