Arsenal are riding the crest of a wave at the moment after a 0-6 shellacking of West Ham United last weekend followed up a vital 3-1 victory over Liverpool which put the Gunners firmly in the title race.
Burnley on the other hand are entering the last chance saloon for their Premier League survival hopes now having gone seven league games without a win.
Burnley vs Arsenal Tips
Arsenal have bounced back in style from a poor run of form around Christmas and the turn of the year, and head to Burnley with spirits soaring after the last couple of weeks.
Wins over Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest after their FA Cup exit against Liverpool were to be expected.
But it is the subsequent 3-1 revenge mission on Liverpool and 6-0 dismantling of West Ham that have really lit a fuse in their title charge.
And that spells huge trouble for Burnley, a team who have only taken one point out of a possible 36 off the ten teams who were in the top half of the Premier League at the start of this weekend.
Vincent Kompany’s fight is not with the Gunners when it comes to determining whether his Burnley side can stay in the top division, but he needs his battlers to start showing something at home where they have picked up only five points so far.
Their one win was against Sheffield United, the only team below them in the standings.
Kompany is publicly saying his team has a chance and of course they do. But if Arsenal are anywhere near as good as they were at the London Stadium on Sunday then you have to fear for the hosts.
Burnley have looked livelier in attack with David Fofana up front, but just how much of the ball is he going to see.
Arsenal should win this and win it tidily enough. Their 90-minute odds reflect the gulf between the teams, but the 6/5 they win without conceding is a riskier but more worthwhile alternative.
They have enjoyed 13 wins to nil this season in all competitions and should be more than good enough to rack up No.14 at Turf Moor.
What was noticeable at West Ham with Arsenal was the fluidity of the front five, with Declan Rice often joining in for good measure.
It means shots rain in from all angles for the Gunners, who have six players averaging over 1.5 shots per game this season.
One of those, Martin Odegaard, has got seven goals to his name in 2023/24, though he hasn’t found the net since the start of December.
It isn’t for the want of trying and it’s about time the Norwegian schemer’s luck started to change.
