Burnley vs Norwich Betting Tips: Back the visitors in Turf Moor clash on Friday
There is some cracking Championship action on Friday night as Dean Smith’s high flying Norwich head to Turf Moor and face another promotion candidate in Burnley at 8pm on Sky Sports.
Burnley vs Norwich Tips
The visitors are currently in second spot, just a single point behind Sheffield United whilst Vincent Kompany’s side are three points behind in fifth after eight games.
There isn’t a whole lot of difference in prices in this game; the home side are 13/10 favourites, a draw is available to back at 12/5 and Norwich are 9/4 to come here and claim all three points.
Siding with the visitors for this one given their impressive form as of late, even if the game ends as a draw we’ll receive a nice chunk of profit which looks like a value play personally.
The Canaries have won five on the bounce after not picking up a win in their opening three fixtures. Josh Sargent has been in fantastic scoring form and has bagged five in as many games, Teemu Pukki grabbed his first goal of the season last weekend which was assisted by Marcelino Nunez, the Chilean youngster has also impressed since his move from South America.
Dean Smith has stated that he wants his side finish top of the division after 46 matches, the club should thrive in games such as these given it could be the difference in an automatic promotion or a play-off spot. Norwich have won the title the previous two times they’ve competed at this level so will be determined to make that a hat-trick come May.
Burnley have won three times this season in the Championship, they have yet to lose at home, however three draws from four at Turf Moor has pushed me towards backing the visiting side. Luton, Hull and Blackpool have all walked away with a point this season in Lancashire who are all expected to finish below Norwich at the end of the season. Millwall were the only side to taste defeat here but away from home they’re far from impressive.
Again, jumping on the Josh Sargent hype here. The American international has shown his class this season after a disappointing debut campaign in the Premier League where he only managed two goals in 26 appearances after his move from German club, Bremen.
In the 22 year-old’s previous five games he accumulated a massive 22 shots and 25 in total this season. Ten of those have attempts have come on target leading to five goals which is not a bad strike rate at all for any player.
The 5/1 shot seems a reasonable price for the big clash on Friday night, Sargent and his side should be full of confidence heading here and will want to continue an impressive run of form as they look to bounce back straight into the Premier League.
