Fabian Hurzeler would've been delighted with his Brighton side after their victory against Everton at Goodison Park. The Toffees started brightly and looked threatening in the opening stages and Sean Dyche's men thought they'd taken the lead inside ten minutes. However, the assistant had raised his flag, indicating an offside.
Yankuba Minteh impressed on his competitive debut. The Gambian provided a stunning cross for Kaoru Mitoma, who fired past Jordan Pickford. Danny Welbeck and Simon Adingra put the contest firmly to bed in the second half. It's an exciting Brighton team and they have plenty of potential to go well this term.
Man United left it late on Friday night against Fulham with Joshua Zirkzee the hero. The Dutchman came off the bench to seal all three points, but Erik ten Hag's side were wasteful at times. United accumulated 2.43xG and missed four big chances. It's still a work in progress and The Red Devils have more depth and quality than the previous season, but they're still a long way off the best sides in the division.
I'm happy to support Brighton on Saturday afternoon. The visitors opened as slight favourites when the markets were released, something I disagreed with. Hurzeler and his men endured a terrific pre-season and will be full of confidence heading into this encounter. Mats Wieffer looks like a solid addition to the side. Minteh and Mitoma will cause havoc on either flank, while Joao Pedro and Danny Welbeck are workhorses.
The Asian Handicap line appeals. We can back Brighton 0.0AH at a valuable price. I struggle to see them losing this clash and the Amex will be rocking. There's a feel-good factor at this club and they've had an exceptional transfer window and have a young and exciting manager.
Kaoru Mitoma is a fantastic footballer. Brighton's Japanese international had been absent due to injury since February. The technically brilliant forward is back as if nothing had happened and Mitoma opened the scoring against Everton last weekend. He was a menace throughout and gave Ashley Young a torrid time in the encounter as he attempted to keep him quiet. The Englishman faced an early bath after he pulled down the man from Japan as he ventured towards Jordan Pickford's goal.
Noussair Mazraoui impressed on his Man United debut. The Moroccan won the majority of his duels throughout the encounter with Fulham and should be in for another busy afternoon on the coast. Mitoma will be attacking the former Bayern man at will and his clever feet and agility will prove a tricky test. Backing Mazraoui to receive a card looks like an angle to consider.
Despite featuring for 45 minutes, Yankuba Minteh impressed on his Premier League debut. He's quick, loves to drive into the penalty box and is a fantastic dribbler. His assist for Mitoma's goal was sublime. Minteh was substituted due to a concussion but should feature from the get-go on Saturday.
Yankuba scored ten goals and registered five assists for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie last season. He averaged 0.62 goals and 0.31 assists per 90, respectively. The 20-year-old isn't afraid to unleash a shot. He'll most certainly have the pace over the Manchester United fullback. Diogo Dalot will be busy at the Amex. I expect the Gambian to show what he's about in front of the home support.
The winger is a cracking price to score or assist in this encounter. Brighton will have plenty of opportunities in forward areas and use their wide players at any given chance. We can combine the two selections for a lovely-looking double.
