Brazil vs. Switzerland Betting Tips: Two offerings for Group G encounter

World Cup favourites Brazil return to the field for their second Group G clash against Switzerland on Monday at 4pm. Both teams won their respective opening games so we should be in store for an intriguing encounter in Doha.

The tournament favourites made a solid start against Serbia and will be looking to take control of the group by earning back-to-back wins. 

Brazil grew into the game against a very capable side in their opener. They limited their opponents to very few opportunities. Serbia failed to register a single shot on target while Brazil had 9. Richarlison sealed the win with a goal of the tournament contender; his superb overhead kick epitomised what Brazil are about.

Tite’s men were top in qualifying; finishing 6 points ahead of Argentina. They need to do a lot more than win the group to live up to their billing but they look as though they will be difficult to stop in the coming weeks.

Switzerland beat Cameroon in a hard-fought contest in their opener. The Swiss had the better chances in a fairly even match so the win was a fair result. Avoiding defeat against Brazil would put them in a good position to qualify for the last 16.

These sides met in the group stages of the last World Cup in Russia. That game finished 1-1 so there is hope for Switzerland heading into this game.

Brazil have an embarrassment of riches in attack and they looked threatening against Serbia. Neymar played as the number 10 and linked the moves together. The pace of Raphinha and Vinicius was a constant threat. RIicharlison played as the striker and his tenacity and movement made him a nightmare to mark.

They had 23 shots in the opening match and I expect them to get a fair few again here. The Selecao are averaging 20 shots per game in their matches in 2022. A win against Switzerland would take the pressure off going into the final group game so expect Tite’s side to go for the jugular on Monday.

In their last 5 matches where they have been priced similarly to win, Brazil are averaging 21 shots per game. They had 21 shots when these teams met at Russia 2018.

Switzerland don’t concede a great deal of shots but the quality of the Brazil attack should break that habit.

The vibrant Brazil attack also force a lot of tackles. Serbia had 24 tackles in the opening match against the tournament favourites. Switzerland also had 24 tackles when these teams played at the last World Cup. 

Brazil’s opponents in competitive matches in 2022 are averaging 19 tackles per game. Switzerland made 15 tackles in their first game against Cameroon but they should be under the cosh for long periods against Brazil.
