Heading into the weekend Manchester City are four points behind league leaders Liverpool, although Pep Guardiola’s side do have a game in hand over their title rivals.
Bournemouth have enjoyed a positive first season so far under Andoni Iraola and find themselves 13th in the top-flight standings. The Cherries have never beaten Saturday’s opponents in 18 meetings in their history and are priced at 6/1 to cause an upset here. The draw can be sided with at 17/4, while a win for City is chalked up at 2/5, implying a 71% chance of success.
Bournemouth vs Man City Tips
The first selection I’ve taken a lean towards is for Erling Haaland to record one or more headed shots on target at 9/4 with Sky Bet. It’s worth remembering prior to his switch to East Manchester, Haaland had only scored five headed goals in his career at Dortmund. Since then, he has improved his aerial output scoring 8 last season, as well as a further three this campaign.
This term in the Premier League Haaland has recorded more headed shots per game than any other player in the division with 23 attempts coming via his swede in 20 appearances. Haaland looks as hungry as ever to find the net at the moment, letting off a whopping 15 shots across his last three matches and at 9/4, I think he looks a very backable price for a headed shot on target.
Regular readers will be aware I’ve tipped up Rodri to score several times this season, but I’m going one step further on Saturday and I’ve had a bit of loose change for him to score and be carded.
The Spaniard is currently on a run of 15 consecutive Premier League matches where he has recorded at least one shot, letting off an average of 2.2 attempts per game in that period. In total he has scored seven goals this season and he looks the value pick of any City goal scorer on Saturday.
Rodri is the master of the tactical foul, but only picked up five yellows last season. This time round with the rule changes that have been implemented by officials, he has already managed seven yellows and one red in just 22 appearances. Four of those cautions have arrived in just nine away matches and combining him to score and be carded against Bournemouth looks to be worth a few quid at 24/1 with BetMGM.
