Belgrano vs. Boca Juniors Betting Tips: Best bets for Primera Division clash in Cordoba
After their win against Palmeiras in the Copa Libertadores semi-finals last Thursday, Boca Juniors are back in action with a trip to Belgrano in the Argentine Primera Division on Tuesday. Read below about our best bets for the game.
This is Belgrano’s first season back in the top-flight since 2018/19 and despite a miserable start to the campaign where they failed to score in their first six matches, they have proved that they can mix it with the big boys of Argentinian football with some strong form in recent weeks. El Ceste currently find themselves just two points behind Group B leaders Central Cordoba and come into this match on the back of a five game unbeaten run.
After seeing off Palmeiras on penalties, Boca Juniors now have the chance to be the first non Brazilian side to lift the Copa Libertadores since 2018. Independiente are the team that will be looking to stop Boca lifting their seventh Libertadores trophy which would be their first since all the way back in 2007. Boca were beaten on their last league outing by their bitter rivals River Plate and will be looking to get back to winning ways with this trip to Cordoba
Belgrano vs Boca Juniors Tips
Predicting the match result looks a little tricky here and the bookmakers seem to agree, with the home side chalked-up at 6/4 to collect the three points. Boca are out at 2/1 for the win, but have only come out victorious in one of their last six league outings.
We’ve therefore decided to steer away from the result and have taken a lean towards Under 1.5 goals being scored in the match. This is available at 5/4 with bet365, and at first glance that may look a little short but we think there is a strong case to be made for this one being a low-scoring affair.
Belgrano are an incredibly well organised side and have conceded the second fewest goals in this stage of the competition. They have now kept four consecutive clean sheets with three of their last four matches having finished goalless.
Boca have struggled for goals in recent matches, failing to find the net in four of their last six in the Argentine top-flight. Their only goals in that period came on the road to Central Cordoba and they could struggle against one of the most well-drilled defensive outfits in the division. Siding with Under 1.5 goals looks the smart play here.
We’ve also had a small punt on a selection from the player shots market provided by bet365. Belgrano’s Ulises Sanchez is the player we are getting behind and are siding with him to have Over 1.5 shots in the match at 11/10.
The 25-year-old midfielder may have only scored two goals this season, but he has let off at least two shots in eight of his last 12 home matches. With this in mind, we are surprised to see this selection priced at odds-against for a repeat against Boca.
