Bayern Munich vs. Bayer Leverkusen Betting Tips: Leroy Sane features in 10/1 fancy

Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen Odds
Seven gameweeks into the new Bundesliga season and 10-in-a-row champions Bayern Munich are shockingly not top of the league. They aren’t even 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. Instead, they stumbled into September’s international break down in 5th. Yes, 5th.
With the knives out for under-fire gaffer Julian Nagelsmann at the start of his second season, the German will need no reminding that he now needs to desperately jolt his troops into gear following a four-game winless run in the Bundesliga: their longest stretch without a league win in 20 years.
Bayern return to action on Friday night (7.30pm, Sky Sports Mix) at home to Bayer Leverkusen, who themselves are down in 15th with just one win from their seven games. The Bavarians are 1/3 to get back to winning ways and - at least temporarily - jump up to 2nd. Visiting Leverkusen, who have lost just once away since February, are out at 7/1 to heap more misery on the defending champs, with a draw priced at 5/1.
Below we bring you two tips for this match up…
Bayern Munich vs. Bayer Leverkusen Tips
No Bayern player has accumulated more shots or shots on target in the league this season than Leroy Sane, who has numbers of 27 and 13 in those respective categories, plus a couple of goals to his name too. In fact, only Marcus Thuram has more Bundesliga shots on the board, and just Thuram and Marvin Ducksch have racked-up more attempts on target.
While the likes of Sadio Mane and Serge Gnabry are both odds-on to have two or more shots on target against Bayer Leverkusen, we’ve spotted some potential value on Sane who is odds-against at 6/4 with bet365. After all, this is a bet that’s landed in five of his last six league games, while the dazzling winger has also scored two goals in two games in the Champions League against Inter Milan and Barcelona.
Capable of brilliance at any moment, the versatile, exciting, and tricky winger will be looking to continue his positive start to the season and build on his four goals in nine matches in all competitions. Expect him to create a number of opportunities for both himself and his teammates against a Leverkusen side that’s conceded in eight of their 10 league and cup games this season.
It’s not quite clicked for Bayern domestically yet this term. But while 5th might be an alarming position for this dominant club, a singular narrow defeat isn’t the end of the world. They’ve still managed to win 7-0 and 6-1 in the league so far this season - and are top of the scoring charts with 19 goals - while they can draw on a couple of superb Champions League wins over Inter and Barcelona to wrestle control of what is a tricky group.
After two weeks digesting the shock defeat to Augsburg, I expect Bayern to come out of the traps roaring at home to Leverkusen, who have only one win to their name this season. They are fully capable of dismantling any team on their day and I like the look of this 10/1 shots on target treble with Betfair’s BetBuilder: This requires both Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane to have over 1.5 SOT apiece, and Alphonso Davies to join the party with over 0.5 SOT.
We’ve already detailed Sane’s impressive stats above. Mane’s attacking threat needs absolutely no introduction, with the former Liverpool star accumulating 2+ SOT in four of his six league starts at Bayern (12 SOT in total). Meanwhile, electric full-back Davies has never been shy in bombing forward or having a crack on goal, registering three SOT in his last four league appearances.
The same bet is 6/1 with Paddy Power and 7/1 with BetVictor, so there looks to be a bit of value on offer here with bet365.
