Aston Villa vs Man United Prediction, Odds and Starting Line Ups: 5/1 Bet Builder for today's big Premier League game

Aston Villa host Man United at Villa Park at 2pm this afternoon, live on Sky Sports Main Event.
Tipster Wizard has previewed the weekend's big Premier League game and delivered us not one but two Bet Builders below.
Aston Villa vs Man United Predictions
- Betbuilder @ 4/5 - 1pt (Bet365) - Selections Below.
- Betbuilder @ 5/1 - 0.25pt (Bet365) - Selections Below.
Unai Emery’s men continued their hugely impressive start to the season to beat European powerhouses Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages on Wednesday to end their 42 game unbeaten streak in the group stages of the competition.
Villa currently sit fifth in the league table with 13 points, having won four, drawn one and lost one game but are currently on a seven-game unbeaten streak in all competitions.
As for the visitors, it has been an abysmal start to the season as they sit 13th in the league table, having notched just seven points after six games. Despite leading by two goals against Porto in the Europa League midweek, they still failed to walk away with all three points and, apart from the league cup win over Barnsley, they have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions.
Pressure is mounting on Erik Ten Hag and a result here is crucial for them to get back into the top half of the table. However, the Reds do have a favourable recent head-to-head record as they have won their last four consecutive meetings against the Villans and they will hope to continue that run.
An exciting Premier League clash awaits us, and I have included my two best bets for the clash in the preview below:
Aston Villa vs Man United Team News
Aston Villa Starting 11:
Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Tielemans, Barkley; Philogene, Rogers, Bailey; Watkins.
Man Utd Starting 11:
Onana; Mazraoui, Evans, Maguire, Dalot; Mainoo, Eriksen; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund.
Bet Builder 1 Selections
- Over 0 goals for Aston Villa
- Youri Tielemens - Over 0.5 fouls
- Andre Onana - Over 1.5 saves
Aston Villa are averaging two goals per game in the Premier League, having scored 12 goals in just six games so far this season. They have scored at least one goal in eight of their nine games so far in all competitions this season and come up against a Manchester United side who have conceded a total of six goals in just their last two games against Porto and Tottenham. They have also conceded a goal in their last four consecutive visits to the Villa Park Stadium and with Unai Emery’s men full of confidence right now, I don’t see how United’s struggling defence keep a clean sheet here.
Youri Tielemens is averaging the most fouls per game for Aston Villa so far this season (1.8). He has committed at least one foul in all eight of his appearances for Villa this season, six in the Premier League and two in the Champions League. He came off the bench and only played 17 minutes against United in this fixture last season but he did commit a foul. Playing in the defensive midfield role, he has been aggressive in his tackles so far this season which has led to high foul numbers and that should continue here.
Andre Onana has been a busy man for United in goal so far in this campaign. Their defensive vulnerability has led to a lot of shots on goal from the opposition which has meant he has made at least two saves in seven of his eight games so far this season. In this fixture last season against Aston Villa, he was forced into a massive eight saves. With Villa brimming full of confidence, I expect him to be very busy again.

Bet Builder 2 Picks
- Over 1 goals for Aston Villa
- Youri Tielemens - Over 1.5 fouls
- Andre Onana - Over 2.5 saves
For the second bet, I am taking higher lines for all three selections of the bet builder.
Aston Villa have scored two or more goals in five of their six Premier League games so far, averaging two goals scored per game. They have also breached United’s defence twice in two of their last three clashes at Villa Park and considering Ten Hag’s men have conceded six goals in their last two games, there’s a strong chance Aston Villa can get on the scoresheet more than once on Sunday afternoon.
Tielemens has committed two fouls in four of his six Premier League games so far this season and leads Villa’s leaderboard for the most fouls committed per game. In all three home games, he has cleared the “Over 1.5 fouls” line so far and I expect that trend to continue here.
Andre Onana is averaging 3.1 saves per game so far this season, making 5,7,2 & 4 saves in his last four games respectively. He was forced into making eight saves in this exact fixture last season and although we might not see that high of a number this time around, I definitely expect him to be forced into making at least three saves at Villa Park.
Combining these three selections gives us a cracking longshot bet builder and we will take that with a small 0.25pt stake as our second bet for this Sunday main event.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
