Arsenal v Chelsea Odds: Compare prices for shots on target and other markets ahead of Sunday's game

Arsenal suffered a humiliating 2-0 opening day loss to Brentford and alarm bells are already starting to ring at the Emirates after the manner of the defeat. Things don’t get easier for the Gunners with the arrival of Chelsea on Sunday before a trip to Manchester City next week.
Mikel Arteta is the current even-money favourite to be the first Premier League manager to face the chop this season and the mood couldn’t be any more contrasting to that of this week’s opposition, Chelsea.
The Blues have had an excellent start to the season, lifting the Super Cup before grabbing a 3-0 win in their opening league game. After having secured the services of Romelu Lukaku things are looking bright at the Bridge and we’ve taken a look ahead to the weekend casting our eye over the Arsenal v Chelsea odds from some of the most popular markets. We’ve also provided you with some key stats which will hopefully lead to some profitable punting.
Match Result
First up let’s have a look at the match result market and after lifting the Champions League last season it’s no surprise to see Chelsea the favourites, currently best priced at 4/5 with William Hill to take all three points.
The draw can be backed at 11/4 while BetVictor are currently top price on an Arsenal win at 19/5. That’s an implied probability of 20.8% that the Gunners will come out on top and it’s worth remembering that they turned Chelsea over 3-1 at the Emirates in this fixture last December.
However, with Lukaku now added to the attack and a feeling of confidence and belief throughout the squad it’s hard to see beyond an away win for Chelsea and they are sure to be a popular choice with punters this weekend.
Shots on Target
The arrival of Lukaku looks to be a great signing for Chelsea and he’s one to keep an eye on in the shots on target market. Big Rom averaged 1.3 shots on target per game in Serie A last season which is the same figure he achieved in his first league season with Manchester United. Betfair are taking no chances against Arsenal having Lukaku the shortest priced player of any in the shots on target market, priced at just 1/6 for 1+ and Evens for 2+.
Timo Werner had the most shots on target for Chelsea last season with 0.9 per game on average however, Marcos Alonso was only just behind this figure with 0.8 on average. The Spaniard only appeared 13 times last term, but after hitting two shots on target, including a goal in Gameweek 1, he’s worth some consideration this weekend should he start. Alonso is currently priced at 10/11 for 1+ shot on target and 5/1 for 2+ shots on target with Paddy Power.
Player to be carded
Paul Tierney is the referee in charge on Sunday and he possessed the best yellow cards per game average of all 19 top flight officials last season showing 3.9 per game. Granit Xhaka is the shortest priced of any player to pick up a booking in Arsenal v Chelsea. The Swiss International can be backed at 9/5 with Unibet to be carded, although it’s worth noting he’s only picked up three yellows in his 13 appearances against Chelsea in his career.
N’Golo Kante wasn’t risked against Crystal Palace last weekend but is back in contention for a start against Arsenal. No player picked up more yellows for Chelsea than the Frenchman in 2020/21, having been shown seven in 30 appearances. 10/3 is the current best price on offer from bet365 for the World Cup winner to find his way into Paul Tierney’s notebook.
Anytime Scorer
Romelu Lukaku currently sits 20th on the list of all-time top goal scorers in the Premier League with 119 goals to his name from his time at Chelsea, West Brom, Everton and Manchester United. Now back at the Bridge there’s every chance Thomas Tuchel will hand him a start at the Emirates with the Belgian 13/10 to find the net anytime with Unibet.
Bukayo Saka was only used as a substitute against Brentford and one would expect him to come back into the starting line-up against Chelsea. The 19-year-old found the net five times in 30 starts in the league last term and is priced at 13/2 to grab his first of the season on Sunday.
Anytime Assist
Timo Werner may have faced some criticism for his poor finishing last season but the German racked up more assists than any other Chelsea player with eight in the league. 4/1 is available for the German to provide an assist anytime on Sunday, with both Paddy Power and Sky Bet.
Only Willian provided more assists in the league for the Gunners than Emile Smith Rowe last season with two of Willian’s five coming on the opening day. The talented Smith Rowe assisted four goals in 20 appearances for Arsenal last season and is being offered at 11/2 with Betfair to register one against Chelsea.
Sunday’s game can be seen live on Sky Sports at 4:30pm and if you are having a bet, please do so responsibly.
