Arsenal vs. Sheffield United Betting Tips: Best bets for Saturday 3pm Premier League game
Arsenal continue their chase for the Premier League title this Saturday with a visit from winless basement dwellers Sheffield United at 3pm.
The Gunners, alongside their bitter North London rivals Tottenham, are in a prestigious club as the only two teams in the Premier League to remain unbeaten. They're also one of only four across the entire English Football League whose 0 remains intact. Arsenal managed to wrestle a point away from Chelsea in their last league outing, followed by a crucial three points in Seville on Tuesday evening.
Despite some spirited performances against the division's boogeymen, Sheffield United are languishing in 20th place with a single point to their name after nine matches. Like Burnley and Luton, The Blades look unequipped to survive the immediate drop back down to the second tier and things aren't going to get easier anytime soon with a visit to the Emirates beckoning.
Arsenal vs Sheffield United Tips
Our first bet is a split Asian Handicap bet where half of your stake is placed on the +2.0 line and the other half on the +2.5 line. That means if Sheffield United win, draw or lose by a one-goal margin, the bet lands. If they lose by a two-goal margin, half the stake will be refunded and half will win. If The Blades lose by three or more goals, then the bet will lose.
Despite Paul Heckingbottom's side not filling us with any confidence of picking up a result on Saturday, we don't envisage a slaughtering in North London. Although they've matched their xG of 7.5 with seven goals scored, they're actually worse off at the other end of the pitch having conceded four goals more than their xGA of 20.4 suggests.
Don't get us wrong, they've been far from an exemplary promoted team but there's also the slight feeling that they aren't exactly the whipping boys of the division either. United have scored in matches with Man Utd, Man City and Tottenham, losing each of those by just a single goal.
They remain winless but the 8-0 drubbing at the hands of Newcastle is the only time this bet would have been settled as a loser across their opening nine Premier League matches.
Considering how this bet would have landed in Arsenal's meetings with Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Everton this term, we fancy Sheffield United to similarly frustrate their hosts and keep the scoreline down.
Following on from our belief that the end result will not necessarily match the dominance on the stats sheet, we're rolling the dice on a correct score bet of Arsenal to win 2-1.
Six of The Gunners' wins have been by a one-goal margin, with Forest, Palace, Everton and Brentford all able to keep things relatively contained in the game.
The Blades have netted in six of their 10 outings since returning to the promised land, scoring in two consecutive matches away to Fulham before last weekend's narrow 2-1 defeat to Man Utd.
Their heavy defeat at home to Newcastle was an anomaly, and they'll have learned from those mistakes, especially when preparing for a big away fixture like Saturday.
Given how Arsenal have kept just one clean sheet in their last four and have conceded on seven occasions already, we think the visitors can nick a goal in a largely frustrating affair for Mikel Arteta's side.
