Arsenal vs. Fulham Betting Tips: Two data-driven picks from The Emirates
Six matches take place in the Premier League on Saturday with Arsenal against Fulham being one of four 3pm kick-offs. We’ve got Anthony Eadson in the tipping hot-seat to provide his two best bets from the Emirates.
The Gunners are one of three top-flight teams to have secured six points so far in the 2023/24 season, with victories against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. Despite two wins from two, Areta’s side are yet to find their top gear, but were not helped by the second half red card for Takehiro Tomiyasu’s second half red card at Selhurst Park on Monday evening.
Fulham managed a victory on the opening day of the season away at Everton, but that didn’t tell the full story of the game with The Toffees recording nine shots on target in comparison to just two from the visitors. Marco Silva’s side were then played off the park in the 3-0 defeat in Gameweek 2 against Brentford at Craven Cottage. Again a second half red-card did not help proceedings, but Fulham must improve here if they are to be competitive in this tough away fixture.
Taking a look at the match result odds for Saturday afternoon’s contest and unsurprisingly the hosts are the short-priced favourites to collect the three points at just 2/11. The draw is available to be backed at 6/1, while a first ever away win at Arsenal is priced at 12/1 for Fulham.
Arsenal vs Fulham Tips
For my first selection I’ve decided to dip my toe into the player fouls market and have taken a lean towards Harry Wilson committing one or more in the match. This is available at a generous looking 5/6 with either Paddy Power or Betfair in comparison to just 4/9 over at Sky Bet.
This bet has landed in five of Wilson’s last seven matches with foul figures of: 1,1,1,0,0,2. A large proportion of the thinking behind this one however is the opponents that Wilson will come up against at Arsenal.
Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz will be the players on Wilson’s side of the pitch and he should be in for plenty of defensive duties on Saturday. Havertz has drawn seven fouls across just two matches so far this season, with Martinelli also being fouled twice in the opening weekend win over Forest at The Emirates. Only Anthony Gordon has been fouled more times than Havertz so far this term and all things considered 5/6 looks a little too big here, with some even bigger quotes floating around on the Betfair Exchange, albeit with low liquidity.
I’ve also had a little tickle on Declan Rice to have two or more shots on target in the game. Not necessarily known for his goal scoring, I expect Rice’s scoring output to increase in this Arsenal side compared to at West Ham.
Against Nottingham Forest on Matchday 1, Rice registered three shots on target and I feel he will be letting fly against a rather weak looking Fulham side as he goes in search of that first goal for his new club. At the time of writing bet365 are the best priced bookmaker on this line with 10/1 on show.
