Anderlecht vs. West Ham Betting Tips: Hammers backed to maintain winning start

Boosted by a 2-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League, West Ham’s focus returns to the Europa Conference League on Thursday night when they travel to Belgium, where they face Anderlecht live on BT Sport 2 (5.45pm).
You can find our two tips for this duel below…
Anderlecht vs West Ham Tips
West Ham top Group B with six points from their two matches against FCSB and Silkeborg, while Anderlecht are two points behind in 2nd spot after collecting four points so far.
With the duo facing off twice within the next week, the outcome of these games could prove to be crucial in who progresses through to the knockout stages as group winner.
West Ham can be backed at 21/20 to maintain their 100% winning start to the competition, while a draw is available at 5/2. A win for Anderlecht (11/4) would leap-frog them above the East Londoners to the summit of the group, although their recent form has been a huge cause of concern.
David Moyes may have felt the pressure gauge rise a little in the build-up to last weekend’s clash against Wolves, but his players responded in style with a comfortable 2-0 win, which saw both Gianluca Scamacca and Jarrod Bowen get on the scoresheet.
West Ham head to Anderlecht on the back of three wins in four matches in all competitions and will now want to take a big step towards qualification to the knockout stages - a victory in Belgium would propel David Moyes’ men five points clear at the half-way stage.
The Hammers can draw on an excellent record in the Europa League Conference this season, having won all four of their matches to date, scoring three goals in each.
As for Anderlecht, they lost at home to Charleroi over the weekend, meaning they’ve now lost half of their 10 league games, leaving them flagging down in 10th and already 14 points adrift of leaders Antwerp.
They’ve now only won two of their last nine matches, a thoroughly underwhelming return which includes five defeats. At odds-against, West Ham look well worth backing at 21/20 with Betfred.
Next up we’ve put together a 6/1 BetBuilder with bet365, which requires West Ham to win, both teams to find the back of the net, and Gianluca Scamacca to score anytime.
West Ham have every reason to believe they can win this one and, as stated in the section above, I fully expect them to return to London with the spoils.
Gianluca Scamacca has three goals in the Europa League Conference this season (including the play-offs), netting last time out against Silkeborg. The striker will be full of confidence after scoring his first Premier League goal last weekend in the 2-0 win over Wolves; a beautiful finish from just outside the penalty area.
As mentioned previously, West Ham have saved their goalscoring touch for Europe, where they’ve bagged 12 goals in four games (three in each). Three of those games have seen West Ham win and both teams score, so there’s good reason to believe this outcome can occur once again on Thursday night.
