We’re about to give you our full, detailed and insightful review of the brand new BetTom bookmaker.

But before we do, we’ll briefly tell you about the BetTom welcome offer. If you place the necessary qualifying bets, you’ll be entitled to receive 50% of any losses that you incur on your first day, up to £25, given to you as a free bet.

Step-by-Step Guide on How to Claim the BetTom Sign-Up Offer

 Here’s what you need to do to get the BetTom free bet. 

• Click on any banner or button that takes you from the Betting Odds website to the BetTom homepage or sign-up page. If you go first to the home page, click on the white Join button in the top-right-hand corner. 
• Enter the details asked of you such as your name, date of birth, telephone number and address. If you didn’t access the BetTom homepage via Betting Odds, now is the time to enter the BetTom bonus code, which is XXXX. Failure to do so may well result in you not being able to claim the  BetTom new customer offer at all. 
• Make a deposit of at least £30. 
• Place a minimum of £30 in bets making sure that there are at least three separate ones for a minimum of £10 each, that each of them is placed on a separate sporting event and that each of the three is at odds of at least 2.0. 
• At the end of your first day as a BetTom customer, the bookmaker will work out if you had net losses or net profits. If they were net profits, congratulations because it means you ended your first day as a BetTom customer in style and will be paid out as normal. But it does also mean that you’re not entitled to receive the BetTom welcome bonus. 
• If you ended the first day with losses, BetTom will credit you with a free bet for 50% of what you lost, up to a maximum of £25. So for example, if you lost £20 on your first day, they’d credit you with a free bet worth £10 within 24 hours. 
• You need to use your BetTom free bet within 7 days of being awarded it. Only profits generated from the free bet are paid to you; the value of the stake isn’t returned.

A lot of the important Ts and Cs have already been covered above, but here are a couple to be particularly aware of.

• Neither the qualifying bets nor the free bets can be used in the Casino; they must be placed in the Sportsbook. 
• When calculating your first day profit and loss, it’s worked out based on your net position at 23:59 on the day you signed up. 
• The maximum free bet you’ll receive is £25, even if your net losses after day 1 were much bigger than £50.
• The welcome offer is limited to one free bet per customer. 
• You can’t withdraw the value of your free bet when you receive it straight away; you need to wager it within 7 days or else you’ll lose it.

The problem with backing a player or team just to win is that sometimes the odds can be pretty short. If instead you predict the actual score and get it right, the payouts will be infinitely bigger. For example, Liverpool are just 1.4 to beat Crystal Palace this weekend but are a far bigger 10.0 to win exactly 2-0.

Top 2,3,4,5 Finish (Racing, Golf) 

If you think you’re onto something good but worry the player or horse may fall just short, you can back them to finish in the Top x rather than actually winning the event, albeit at shorter odds.

Banking With BetTom

Given how new the site is, the fact that we haven’t yet executed a withdrawal and that information is currently a bit thin on the ground regarding banking here, we’ll be honest when we say we’re still learning about this area of their business. But here’s what we do know. 

You can deposit and withdraw using Visa, Mastercard, Trust Payments and Nuvei only, meaning that at present you can’t use the likes of Paysafecard or PayPal, but we hope that changes in the future as those two e-wallets are extremely popular at betting sites. We’re also not yet sure about minimum and maximum deposits, but we have to assume that deposits will all be instant. You can get in touch via email, and if your query is of a more urgent nature, via Live Chat, too. What we were impressed with was that the Live Chat was with an actual (human) agent rather than an AI tool, which isn’t always the case at all betting sites.

And while we’re at it, the agent was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. But they could also do with providing a phone line and having some useful FAQs available to help solve some of the simpler queries. 

Our Experience Using BetTom

Sometimes I just get a good gut feel about a new Sportsbook and that’s certainly the case here. 

As someone who bets on numerous sports, including some of the more obscure ones like biathlon and field hockey, I was delighted that they offered the lot, more than 40. 

So whatever sport I want to punt on, I won’t have to go elsewhere. And within those sports, I was also impressed with the variety and quantity of the markets, the competitive odds and the fact that a good Bet Builder product is available not just for football but other sports as well, such as tennis. 

Personally, I’m not a big fan of their welcome offer, though. Some will say that it’s win/win because if you’re winning after your first day that’s great. And if you lose, you’ll at least get half your losses back. 

But I think you should be able to win on your first day AND get a free bet or other bonus to look forward to as well: not one or the other. On the plus side, their Best Odds Guaranteed promise for all UK and Ireland horse racing is a big plus for me, especially given that it extends to greyhound racing. Acca insurance is also useful as a promo but I’d like to see some Odds Boosts going forward, plus some ways customers can also earn themselves some free bets. 

Their football and racing products are very good in general, and though I didn’t mention this earlier, I’ve heard from BetTom themselves that they’ll introduce live streaming for racing over the next couple of weeks, though I don’t know if that will extend to other sports, too. On a separate note, they also confirmed Apple Pay will be added as a payment method in the near future so that’s another positive. 

Once they carry on addressing these small issues and adding new features, they could quickly become a major player.
