Next Bournemouth Manager Odds: Top 10 candidates according to the betting

Scott Parker became the first Premier League manager to be sacked this season on Tuesday morning, following his Bournemouth side's 9-0 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday.
Whilst nobody really gave the Cherries a cat in hell's chance of getting a result at Anfield, the nature of the defeat and perhaps more importantly Parker's post-match interview which highlighted the club's lack of investment this summer did for the former Fulham bosses time in the dugout at the Vitality Stadium.
You could argue that Parker has been harshly treated given they won their opening game of the season against Aston Villa, but they have then been beaten by Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool, shipping 17 goals in the process which was enough for the Dorset club's owners.
Favourites for the drop in the Premier League relegation betting before a ball had been kicked, Bournemouth are already 4/11 best price to go down so the new man will have a big job on his hands.
At 'The Sackrace' we specialise in manager markets and we've trawled the betting to pick out the top 10 candidates in the next Bournemouth manager odds market according to the bookies' best prices...
1. Sean Dyche - 9/4 fav
The former Burnley man was 4/1 when the markets opened swiftly following the news of Parker's departure on Tuesday morning. Backed into 9/4 with William Hill he's as short as 17/20 with Paddy Power. Sean Dyche has been enjoying life since his sacking from Turf Moor and whilst he can make Bournemouth competitive, do they have the type of players he'll want at the club and is his style of football the type the Cherries fans will be happy with?
2. Kjetil Knutsen - 5/1
Knutsen is a popular selection in the betting markets in England's top two divisions. Twice a title winner with Bodo/Glimt in his homeland of Norway, he really came to prominence when his side showed up Jose Mourinho's Roma in the Europa Conference last season beating them 6-1. Bet Victor go best price 5/1 about his chances here.
3. Vladimir Petkovic - 10/1
Petkovic will be recognisable to many football fans as the former manager of the Swiss national side where he won 42 of their 78 games under his guidance. At 10/1 with Paddy Power the price and selection seems a little speculative given he's not long been in charge of Ligue 1's Bordeaux, maybe aligned to their poor start to the season.
4. Chris Wilder - 12/1
Wilder would be a popular choice with the fans at 'Dean Court' and he's as short as 5/1 with Betfair for the Bournemouth job. The former Sheffield United manager knows how to avoid relegation from the top flight but also experienced it with the Blades and he's not that long into his latest project at Middlesbrough. Hills go best price 12/1 about his chances.
5. Gary O'Neill - 14/1
The former Pompey midfielder has taken caretaker charge at the club and even with a positive upturn in results whilst the search for a new manager goes on it's a hard push to imagine him taking the reins full time.
6. Nuno Espirito Santo - 14/1
The former Wolves manager would have seemed a decent option were it not for his disastrous spell at Spurs and he's currently plying his trade in the Saudi League where his side Al-Ittihad got off to a winning start in the Saudi Pro League at the weekend. 14/1 seems pretty short here, even at best prices with Bet Victor.
7. John Terry - 20/1
The first of a handful of former top England players, John Terry is yet to taste first team management and Hills and Bet Victor go 7/1 about his chances here whilst Paddy Power are a stand out 20/1. The former Chelsea captain had a spell on the sidelines as one of Dean Smith's coaches at Aston Villa and currently calls the shots at Chelsea's academy.
8. Michael Carrick - 20/1
Like Terry, Carrick has had some experience at coaching level in the Premier League, supporting Ole Gunnar Solksjaer at Manchester United and then as caretaker at Old Trafford, albeit for three matches where he won two and drew one. At best price 20/1 he'd make more appeal than the aforementioned Terry.
9. Jonathan Woodgate - 20/1
The former Leeds and Spurs centre-back who has had spells at Middlesbrough and here at Bournemouth is another who can be backed at 20/1. Jonathan Woodgate had a pretty rancid time of it at his home town club of Boro before enjoying what is Bournemouth's best ever win percentage as a manager, albeit a small sample of 23 games. He could be a popular pick for the fans after he took over as caretaker at Dean Court from Jason Tindall in 2021 and reached the Championship play-offs before being replaced by Parker. At 20/1 he's an attractive price.
10. Liam Manning - 20/1
The highly rated Liam Manning is a 20/1 chance with William Hill. The young manager of MK Dons has a current 54% strike rate for the club winning 31 of his 57 games. It's a massive step up however to the Premier League and albeit only four games in, the good ship AFC Bournemouth could already be described as 'sinking' and is the type of manager they can see pulling them afloat?
