Jose Mourinho Next Job Odds: Featuring Bayer Leverkusen, Nottingham Forest & Rangers

Jose Mourinho is back in the Job Centre following his departure from Fenerbahce, but history tells us that 'The Special One' won't be out of the dugout for long.
He's already being linked with the newly opened vacancy at Bayer Leverkusen, and there could soon be some intriguing options in both the Premier League and Scotland.

Below, we take a look at Mourinho's options, based on the latest odds from bet365.
Bayer Leverkusen: 5/2
Mourinho has managed in Portugal, England, Italy, Spain, and Turkey, but he’s never taken the reins in Germany.
He’s been linked with a move to the Bundesliga several times and now the calls will be loud after the timing of his Fenerbahce exit coincides with Bayer Leverkusen’s shock decision to sack Erik ten Hag just two league games into the season: the fastest managerial dismissal in Bundesliga history.
Leverkusen would offer Mourinho the chance to compete for domestic titles, as well as challenge in the Champions League, where they’ll face defending champions PSG, and the Premier League duo of Man City and Newcastle.
It represents an interesting opportunity for Mourinho, although the summer departure of several key players could pose a challenge.
Nottingham Forest: 5/1
Could a return to the Premier League be on the cards? It’s been over four years since Mourinho last managed in England; a 17-month spell at Spurs, who unceremoniously sacked him days before the Carabao cup final.
Much has changed since then, with Nottingham Forest emerging as last season’s surprise package. However, the future of the manager who masterminded their qualification into Europe, Nuno Espirito Santo, is now uncertain following a spat with the Tricky Trees owner Evangelos Marinakis, leaving him as the 6/4 favourite to be the first Premier League managerial casualty of the new season.
Rangers: 5/1
Russell Martin has endured a torrid start to his Rangers tenure, failing to win any of his opening four league games - all draws - in between a shambolic 9-1 aggregate thrashing to Club Brugge in the Champions League play-offs.
Martin's days at Ibrox already seem numbered and the sudden availability of a high-profile manager like Mourinho has sparked speculation in Glasgow.
Just this year, Mourinho was asked about the possibility of managing in Scotland:
"Celtic and Rangers are big clubs with big fan bases, big emotions, big responsibilities, big expectations. Why not?"
West Ham: 6/1
West Ham could be another Premier League possibility for Mourinho.
Graham Potter hasn’t made the impact many Hammers fans had hoped for since his appointment in January, with just six wins from 23 games.
The pressure mounted early this season after three consecutive defeats in all competitions, but a stunning 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest last weekend has provided Potter with some much-needed respite over the international break.
That said, if Potter can’t build on that victory with consistent results, the pressure will inevitably rise again.
Man United: 13/2
Mourinho spent two-and-a-half years at the helm of Manchester United, winning the League Cup and Europa League, while also securing a second-place finish in the Premier League.
Although his time at Old Trafford ended on a sour note, Mourinho boasts the highest win percentage (58.33%) of any Manchester United manager since Sir Alex Ferguson (10+ games). In comparison, incumbent Ruben Amorim has won just 17 of his 46 matches so far (36.96%).
Amorim's future at Old Trafford remains uncertain and an exit does appear likely if United's sluggish start continues. Still, if a vacancy does open up, a return for Mourinho seems remote - but stranger things have happened!
